For every @NASA astronaut who serves as a public face of human spaceflight, there are thousands of people working behind the scenes to make the agency’s missions a success. Even the smallest tasks impact NASA’s ability to explore & innovate for the benefit of humanity.
I’d like to express my gratitude to our @NASA_Johnson administrative team for their dedication to mission success.
Check out this great story featuring several of NASA’s Johnson Space Center’s excellent administrative team: roundupreads.jsc.nasa.gov/roundup/2431

I’ve been getting questions about Starliner.
Fundamentally, it’s a Flight Test so changes are to be expected. And in the grand scheme of things it’s almost incomprehensible that humanity has been permanently crewing a research station *in space* for a generation, and is presently debating the *best* ride home in the midst of validating a *third* human transportation option to and from that station.
It’ll all be fine, folks. Take the long view. This is how human spaceflight progress goes - in fits and starts, with engineers working themselves to the bone for decades. (If I had a nickel … )
And on that note kudos to my fellow aerospace engineers slaving away at the development , verification, and sustaining engineering that underpin each of the US commercial crew systems. Respect. 🙏🏻 #ISSalumni

@Astro_Maker1 I just got back from the 30 year reunion for VT-7 instructors. Your photo was in one of the picture books and someone said you were an astronaut. I thought they were joking, but here you are. Congrats. Also didn’t realize you were at Purdue the same time I was.

Please join me in congratulating my old buddy Chuck, the producer of The Way I Heard It, on another trip around the sun. Here he is, doing what he does best - drinking vodka by accident, impersonating a president, and making everyone around him laugh. Congratulations, my friend. Your gift is in the mail.

Many of you know my friend, Salena Zito. She's an excellent reporter who writes with great affection about rural America. On Saturday, she was four feet from Donald Trump when the shooting started. That's her on the ground, beneath a campaign staffer determined to protect her. Her account is here, and worth a read, if you value an eyewitness report from an actual journalist. bit.ly/463gdLn Salena is still in shock, but had the presence of mind to document what she saw on a day that will be discussed for many days to come. I'm proud of her, and glad she's okay.
I have some other thoughts, too, but think I'll wait a bit to share them publicly. In general, I think it's fair to say that Donald Trump was not the only one who dodged a bullet yesterday. I think America did, as well. As with so many other moments in history, this one came down to a centimeter or two. Truly chilling to imagine the reaction, had that bullet found its intended target.
Condolences to the families of the victims. The fatality is a retired fire chief, who died protecting his daughters. fxn.ws/3WlTKGe Tragic.
