I'd recommend John Banya's book Medical Narcissism. He makes the point that it's not just individuals but but a narcissistic culture where the authority must be upheld at all costs with those who admit uncertainty or error being weeded out through the brutal and rigidly hierarchical medical training system.
I'd say the medical system as a whole struggles with criticism and responds with aggressive hostility to those that do not defer to it.
This is all the more true of certain specialities that are less well established with weaker epistemological underpinnings...

Many clinicians are narcissistically organized, and do not wish to admit it. Or are in denial about it. Many (most) display characteristics of “vulnerable narcissism,” but have brilliant justifications of their symptoms. Getting their excessive need to be “special” met by seeking special attention from patients.

I think there’s complexity here that’s gonna take more time than I’m willing to give at 10 pm on a Friday.
The best way to look at it is this. If this goes “disclosure” occurs, it is with permission of the same parties denying full disclosure on things like Kennedy and Epstein. So officials at key nodes which control classification of data…these nodes have colluded across agencies to say “yes” to UAP and no to Epstein and Kennedy.
This is not the result of some mighty warriors and truth advocates, fighting the odds to bring us the real story. This is a deeply strategic decision which was originally conceptualized decades ago, and is being implemented now at great urgency dude to the geo-political and economic landscape in the west, and the absolute fear and desperation of powerbrokers in those respective countries.

I think there are several competing factions, and the one pushing for disclosure knows it'll hurt the other sides more.
But that's just rational self interest, that doesn't mean the public can't benefit.

People do not throw their political support for policies or officials based on calm detached reflection upon a nuanced and informed historical knowledge.
The entire political system is governed by sophisticated and highly effective strategies targeting emotion, perception, and instinct below the conscious level.
These cognitive processes form the backbone of political “opinons” and actions in the populace.
“Disclosure” is being used as a psychological tools because the cognitive and emotional effects will be profound and immediately valuable as a tool of power.
This has been judged to weigh more than the detrimental effects of whatever 2nd and 3rd order effects you’re referring to.
So yes. It is a psy-op.

The bumblebee is a truly magical creature that defies everything conventional science tells us about flight and levitation.
In short, bees should not be physically able to fly, as their wings are far too small to create enough lift to carry their relatively enormous body.
But they don't give a f*ck and fly anyway.
How?
Because bees don't fly - they LEVITATE - using frequency.
When bees beat their wings rapidly (around 200 times per second), they create their own frequency bubble in the aether, the resonance of which matches the 7.83Hz of Earth's magnetic field.
