It’s designed to communicate urgency without relying on UI elements, but we recognize it won’t feel comfortable for everyone. We’ve already reduced its volume once based on player feedback, and we’ll continue exploring ways to make it less intrusive. In the meantime, lowering the effects volume in the audio settings should help reduce its intensity. We appreciate you bringing this up - it’s valuable input as we continue to improve accessibility and comfort options going forward.

@AstrobotanGame As a backer i have concerns that I only see you commenting on your posts here and FB, I have the game installed on steam and have some time into it but I can't get past the suffocating sound when im low on O2. It hits too close to home with a parent with breathing issues.
