Ngl despite the division over the retcon with two time I think we can all agree that it should have been approached better to prevent the situation from happening in the first place

they should just fully commit to making forsaken shedletsky have the personality of mighty eagle

#Forsaken My issue with the “nonbinary people don’t owe you androgyny” argument against retconning the name is that, aside from the obvious stuff, the exact same thing happens to Chance. Chance goes by he/they and is very masculine presenting, yet a lot of people in the fandom-

I do think we could have explored a lot more but that would have also been if the writers had approached the whole thomas name better. While I agree it should have been addressed more critially, I believe it should have been revealed more critically to avoid this whole mess

@At4rie oh absolutely!! I wouldn’t be surprised if twotime is their preferred name since it’s normal for your preferred name to start as just a nickname (hell, my own preferred name started as just a nickname) and it would be nice for their name to be explored further in the future

There’s suddenly people complaining that the whole Thomas thing shouldn’t have been retconned and I don’t think they realize or understand why people felt like it was deadnaming I love being a smart forsaken fan

@aoscf_77 True true, I personally only had issue with thomas being their name because I knew how many people would use it as a reason to ignore Two time being nb. There is already a huge issue with people misgendering tt and because their name was revealed so poorly it would only intensify

@At4rie my only problem with the discourse is people thinking that the name itself was the problem instead of how it was handled. giving a nonbinary character a “masculine” name isn’t feeding into transphobia, but thinking the name is a problem absolutely is feeding into it

just an fyi I am a non-binary person who mainly goes by a nickname and feels incredibly uncomfortable whenever I am referred to as my "actual" name. I understand this situation much more then a lot of the people saying it's not the same. That is why I am so upset about this.

@aoscf_77 I feel if they explored their name being Thomas more instead of dropping it out of the blue it would work pretty well but they didn’t do that. Ik tt’s name is also meant to be a nickname but we currently see them identifying with it as a name

@aoscf_77 Can 100% agree on that. I only mentioned I’m on the trans spectrum because you assumed I was bianary. I feel like they had more than enough time to explore it before dropping the name out of nowhere like that given the game has been out for years now

@aoscf_77 In their dialogue/descriptions/wiki, etc, they are Two time. They have been Two time for years. It makes sense for people to think that is their preferred name

@aoscf_77 I’m on the trans spectrum myself lol. The reason I was upset wasn’t because of what name, masc/fem names are fine. It’s the fact that Two time never refers to themself as Thomas before the reveal that has sm people upset. They have been identifying themself with the name Two time
