Perez pits with a broken front right suspension. He was braking for the final chicane and couldn't slow the car properly, then the suspension seemed to fail. Very strange (and worrying) #F1 #CanadianGP

as great as the #indy500 is, the whole "the previous 198 laps mean nothing because you can just draft and get it on the line if you go into the last lap in P2" format is fairly deflating unless you're a specific fan of the driver who benefits from it. malukas deserved the win.

and i think he has the same spirirt about the sport as many of the fans, like myself, who *want* to stay, but the current regs are so opposing to what motor racing is, that there's almost no option but to go elsewhere.

the difference between max threatening to quit and other drivers, is that he actually has more pull factors than push factors. if the regs aren't fun, or aren't good for driving, he has other series clamouring for him, and he has the personal infrastructure to jump ship.

Max Verstappen has threatened to quit Formula 1 at the end of this season if planned changes to the engine regulations for next year are blocked. The FIA said recently that an agreement had been reached in principle to changes that would reduce the need for energy management from 2027. But opposition has emerged in subsequent talks around the detail of the plan and there is currently not enough support for the change to be passed.
