Whoever wrote this speech deserves a raise. Trump is embracing nationalism and non-intervention. Most importantly, he's demolishing the entire legacy of neoconservatism. Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro and Dave Rubin are gonna have an aneurysm. Good.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES: Trump takes a blow torch to the neocons and interventionists while speaking to the Saudis. This is a VICTORY speech over globalism. "It's crucial for the wider world to know this great transformation has not come from Western interventionists, or flying people in beautiful planes giving you lectures on how to live and how to govern your own affairs." "In the end, the so-called nation builders wrecked far more nations than they built and the interventionalists were intervening in complex societies that they did not even understand themselves." "No, the gleaming marvels of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi were not created by the so-called 'nation builders,' neocons, or liberal non-profits like those who spent trillions and trillions of dollars failing to develop Baghdad, so many other cities." "Instead, the birth of a modern Middle East has been brought by the people of the region themselves, the people that are right here, the people that have lived here all their lives, developing your own sovereign countries, pursuing your own unique visions and charting your own destinies in your own way." "They told you how to do it, but they had no idea how to do it themselves. Peace, prosperity, and progress ultimately came not from a radical rejection of your heritage, but rather from embracing your national traditions and embracing that same heritage that you love so dearly." "You achieved a modern miracle the Arabian way." No wonder they respect him so much.

US foreign policy has always been to engage with the entrenched power elite in Pakistan. Now perhaps the time has come to engage with the Pakistani people or risk losing all goodwill in Pakistan forever. Sooner or later in the next century, the people of Pakistan WILL find a way to rule Pakistan. When that happens, wouldn't it be a nightmare if the country turns actively hostile towards its former ally? There is still time to take a step back and inspect the damage. The kind of human rights violations that are happening for short term goals have no place in the civilized world. There are hundreds of members of Pakistani civil society, including US citizens, that are facing military courts. There are people, including journalists, who have been missing for months. Dozens of major politicians, democratically elected leaders of their respective constituencies and communities, are either jailed or missing or have been tortured. Even reversing this would be a mammoth task. But it has to be done. Pakistan cannot be ruled as an autocracy anymore. As for the Ukraine war and US relationship with Pakistan. I am sure a much better outcome wouldve been achieved if engaged positively with the democratically elected Prime Minister of the time, Imran Khan. I see no reason why he would not have agreed to weapons contracts or taking a critical stance against Russia given his strong anti-war positions in the past. But the key would have been positive and rational engagement. Not listening to people like Haqqani or Bajwa who had their own political ambitions and axes to grind. This, as it stands, is a horribly botched operation. It has achieved the exact opposite of what it set out to achieve. Now the time has come to cut the losses and find a way to move forward. Pakistani people are a key stakeholder in the future of Pakistan, they must be considered when it comes to policymaking. The current human rights crisis has been completely manufactured due to the inaccurate assessment of the situation in Pakistan and has become an extremely urgent issue. This has to be stopped, with the next step being elections and smooth transition of power. If those things happen, Pakistan can begin to heal and this massive damage to US-Pakistan ties can start to be reversed. And it definitely can be reversed. Maybe now is the time to "reimagine" US-Pakistan ties and democratize them.

The free world that nuked Japan used Mother-of-All-Bombs, Daisy-Cutters in Afghanistan, Droned non-combat targets in Iraq, or a country that never invaded another country - not even HongKong/Taiwan despite claims over ?
