Today marks the EDSA People Power Anniversary, NOT February 24. While EDSA as an event stays in the past, our efforts to enact its democratic ambitions continue in the present. May our spirit keep alive as we dream of a more just, compassionate society in the future. #EDSA37

However, if information about the budget remains inaccessible to many—with the crucial details only visible in livestream recordings—the student body would not truly engage with the Sanggunian. Ultimately, the latter risks robbing itself of the voices of its own constituents.

Transparency begets engagement, the latter of which is two-way. The Sanggunian could open up more channels to monitor how the budget is used so that the student body can offer more feedback regarding its initiatives, thus serving everyone’s interests further.
