At this past weekend's NACAC Championships in Freeport, Bahamas, @MittonSarah of North York, ON (originally Brooklyn, NS) claimed gold in the women's shot put with a new championship record of 20.15m! 🇧🇸🥇 Congratulations Sarah! 🇨🇦

Despite some struggles in her early attempts, Sarah found her mark and threw 19.03m on her sixth and final throw, claiming gold by a narrow 5cm!

The shot putter will have a busy summer, as she has been named to three national teams. In addition to the NACAC Track and Field Championships, Mitton will represent Canada at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK!
