Evangelical supporters and even some military commanders have reportedly framed the war as a step toward the biblical Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus. In Hindu cosmology, Kali Yuga, which is happening now till 2032, is the final, darkest age of a four-stage cycle. It is defined by a decline in spirituality, morality, and truth. Characterised by conflict and greed, it eventually ends with the world’s destruction and rebirth into a new golden age.

Silver iodide is the most common agent, used for "cold" clouds. Its crystalline structure is very similar to ice, encouraging water droplets to freeze and grow into snowflakes. Debate exists regarding the toxicity and potential bioaccumulation of silver iodide, though many programs maintain that concentrations used are negligible. Some link cloud seeding to increased risks of flooding or unintended severe weather.  More than 50 countries, including the U.S. and Australia, currently operate weather modification programs to manage water scarcity, agricultural needs, and environmental challenges. Under the U.S. Clean Water Act, silver iodide is regulated as a hazardous and toxic pollutant. Some recent laboratory studies suggest that if AgI accumulates through repeated seeding in one area, it may moderately affect soil bacteria, photosynthetic activity in phytoplankton, and aquatic microbiomes. While AgI is not considered highly bioavailable, there are concerns regarding its potential to build up in aquatic life over many years, particularly in sensitive ecosystems.
