Robert's challenge to builders: "Really try to push yourself to build something useful because crypto is unfortunately this weird cycle where retail traders pay for the stuff that gets created. So people then optimize the stuff, which is the casino, so that more retail traders come and it creates a self-fulfilling cycle. It just requires a few people to build something else."

We spoke with Robert Leifke ( @robertleifke ), founder of Numo ( @numoforex ) and a graduate of the very first Uniswap Hook Incubator cohort. Numo is building onchain FX hedging for frontier markets, making tools that big banks gatekeep accessible to microlenders and importers in Nigeria and Kenya. Robert shared what he's learned about the problem, the pivots, and what it actually takes to build something useful in DeFi. 🧵

AI has gotten good at writing Dune queries. If you describe what you're doing and provide contract addresses it may not discover on its own, it can often produce a working query in one shot. "As we begin to outsource this stuff to AI, what's really important is that you understand how to validate the data that it provides."
