New for 2026 at Särkänniemi in Finland is Konect - one of the tallest and longest family coasters that Vekoma have ever built! The ride covers a large area and skims along the shoreline of Lake Näsijärvi, providing some fantastic views. Check out our front seat POV below.

We’ve had a brilliant day at Sarkanniemi which is located in Tampere, Finland. The park is home to some fantastic rides & attractions including Tornado, a unique Intamin suspended coaster. For 2026, Sarkanniemi opened Konect - a brand new Vekoma family coaster with a great layout

The certificate of lawfulness has today been granted for LEGOLAND Windsor’s proposed new coaster on the former site of Viking River Splash, believed to be a MACK Rides Family Spinning Coaster 🌀🥷

We’ve just experienced our first ride on Aviktas which we think is the most thrilling flat ride in the UK! There's no hanging around, with the ride building up speed and height very quickly. Aviktas provides the perfect mix of high thrills, G-forces and weightlessness.

The entrance to Aviktas features an impressive archway with the ride's name centred. The area is stylised, in a similar way to Icon, with black and gold décor throughout. Once the ride is in motion, a giant golden snake features within the pit below.

Before we experience Aviktas for the first time, the official opening ceremony is now underway. Managing Director & CEO Amanda Thompson OBE has taken to the stage to welcome guests and mark the occasion.

There's few coasters that have had a glow up as good as this one! Raven at Paultons Park started life in 2006 as Cobra and has now been rethemed as part of the spectacular new area, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings. Check out our new front seat POV, linked below.

With Valgard: Realm of the Vikings now open, the focus of construction can shift to Serpent's Curse. The water coaster's yellow track has already begun to be delivered and a lot of the footers appear complete, with other foundations also progressing. 👉 attractionsource.com/future-develop…

Will you make use of this area?

Construction appears to have come to an end on Launch Pad, the new relaxation area at Thorpe Park. Final preparations are underway before opening, including installation of more outdoor furniture and readying the food and beverage units for customers.

@H3lixHexagon Yes, Poseidon also operates during the winter.

Can the water levels be lowered on these? I’ve ridden JtA and Poseidon but the former is in a hot climate and I rode the latter during the summer.
