A little birdie tells me that CM sahib called on the Home Minister recently. And the photo that emerged out of the meeting was CM sahib like an overexcited marathoner grinning from ear to ear, handing over a bouquet, ostensibly congratulating the BJP for the recent electoral meeting. In the meeting CM sahib apparently complained about the time taken for clearing the Reservation file. And apparently yet again CM sahib was informed that the file has been despatched 3 weeks back. Nobody it seems told CM sahib. And yet again, yet again apparently the Centre has queried as to how the sub Committe came to the conclusions that have been forwarded. Very humbly may I state. I had asked the same question in assembly and asserted that there is no evidence of research. The recommendations sent should have been a research backed document based on scientific evidence. Anyways. God bless those who voted them to power 🤔

We waited. We trusted the promises. We believed the subcommittee would finally bring justice to students. But today it feels like all of it was just a way to buy time and silence the outrage. Years of hard work, sleepless nights, sacrifices of families reduced to file movements and political tactics. This was never just about reservation. This was about the future of an entire generation in J&K. And honestly students deserved better. We are betrayed.

This is a grave injustice. @JKNC_ government’s so-called subcommittee is just a tactic to mislead us and keep us blind. While their own children settle outside, they are crushing the future of middle-class families here. This is not governance ,it’s betrayal. @OmarAbdullah

7,88,707 vs 1,76,425 — the numbers speak. In a Revenue Department reply to MLA Pulwama @parawahid in the J&K Assembly: Jammu accounts for 81.7% of category certificates, while Kashmir is at just 18.3%. A glaring disparity that demands urgent answers.

Reservation or Rigging? The SCANDAL is out. Revenue Dept’s own data today exposes the skew: Jammu - 7.88 lakh certificates (81.7%) Kashmir - just 1.76 lakh (18.3%) This isn’t imbalance. Hon'ble MLA Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri became emotional while presenting the reservation bill, highlighting the gravity of the issue. Yet the bill was defeated, with only 4 members supporting it, all from the JKPDP. Not a single member from the JKNC stood with it.

Must thank @DrVeeri for taking the brainchild forward, and the four members who stood by it when it counted. We may not have got it through, and yes, that is personal setback. Days and days of hard work brought down in a moment is never easy. But today was a WATERSHED MOMENT for US . It laid bare who stands where. Let me make this clear to our youth watching on hopelessly: This is not the end. What was rejected today will endure as a vision document for years to come. And the fight for justice will continue, stronger and stronger with each attempt to mow us down..I believe one day we shall have our way,Insha'a Allah ! #saveOM #saveGC

Though the government rejected it, we deeply appreciate your courage. We must all unite and fight for our future. This may be a long road but we can’t lose hope. When will youth especially the Unreserved GC youth get a deserving pie after funding the exchequer & literally 'wasting' their 30 years on degrees ? Will our institutions ever be liberated from corrupt officers running 'Rs 40 Lakh per seat scandal ' with impunity ? Will there ever be men of integrity running the Examination depts in these tainted institutions ? On one hand, the draconian Reservation policy & now the lower import tariffs potentially crippling J&K’s apple & allied horticulture economy (walnuts,dry fruits,honey et all) --the lifeline of lakhs of families. Not just is this personal; as firsthand victim of the Draconian Reservation policy & as an orchardist like millions of our people, but This goes beyond narrow considerations... What will we inherit to our generations and infact forget about future ,what are we even left with in the present ,with both these lifelines choked ? A crippled economy with its two main engines -- Horticulture and Govt jobs in tatters ! PS : We need to step up. Protect our people. Protect our produce. The time is now. In my humble capacity as a citizen, I will try to use all avenues and knock every door for our people. I hope every person who has a mind and a heart and especially those given responsibility to express will do so too. Yesterday late evening also met MLA Handwara @sajadlone sahb at L.A. He pledged to vociferously raise the issue with the amendments to LG address lined up today. His insights on reviving the Divisional & District cadre has been one of the tenets of our Rationalisation formula from the outset . Hope he will keep raising them as a long-term solution with his trademark clarity. @sajadlone @JKPCOfficial @GCO_JK

Also had a conversation with the young Nagrota MLA @devyanidsrana ji today. Clear, grounded, & willing to listen. Even though our idealogies maybe poles apart,i believe there are issues when you have to rise above and beyond ; Rationalisation is certainly one such issue. We need young voices in this house that rise above party lines & speak for the people since General category of both regions (Dogri & Kashmiri speaking populations) are facing the onslaught of this issue.
