Did I pick a strange day to look back in on Twitter?😕 People I actually know talking about ‘immigrants’ & ‘refugees’ as though they aren’t human. You know me, and I’m an immigrant to this country. My maternal grandparents came here as refugees. What’s so hard to understand?

@TobyHadoke As you know, I’m not able to stand for more than a couple of minutes. So now I take the 06:26 down direct and travel back via Birmingham. It takes hours and involves two changes of train but it’s the only way to guarantee a seat. Ridiculous!

@TobyHadoke TfW on that route is no longer fit for purpose. I have to go MAN-HFD several times a week because of my dad’s health and on the return journey would have to stand as far as Shrewsbury or Crewe due to the two carriage problem and overcrowding because so many trains are cancelled

Admire the optimism that only 2 carriages are needed to convey travellers between major cities (Cardiff-Manc) & that none of them will need anywhere to put any luggage. Still, at least the basic facilities are reflected in the ticket price (!) of this crowded, rickety biscuit tin

@brewres @TobyHadoke The only time I have seen more than two carriages this year is on the 06:26 service leaving Manchester. It’s appalling.

If you know or knew me in the real world beyond here, something upsetting. I received a diagnosis of dementia and perhaps I should’ve been expecting but as I’m not 52 til next month I wasn’t. I really don’t know what to expect next and it’s frightening but bear with me please.
