So...Kwaito did in fact have visionaries lol.
What we tend to 4get is that Kwaito existed within fragile post-apartheid media economies that later shifted under platformisation and commercial radio/tv restructuring.

Kwaito lacked visionaries, only relied on music. There was no Kwaito magazine, Kwaito awards, Kwaito radio show, Kwaito TV show, annual Kwaito festival… Soon as the music was no longer appealing, there was nothing else to hold on to.

@shufflesdu I resigned in 2023 and decided not to work for 3 months, living off savings. Yessis, I was shocked how much I burnt through it (mind you, I think I have minimalistic lifestyle).

People in King Williams Town simply relocated from cities to build their dream homes in rural areas. Now Oscar Mbuyane is complaining and wants to bill them despite not receiving municipal services. He failed to keep the city in good condition. Everything is deteriorating.
