🌍 LIFE @AuditPlus86004 at @ForoTransfiere 2026: Bringing Energy Efficiency Innovation to Málaga (Spain) The LIFE AUDIT Plus project was proud to participate in Transfiere – the European Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation, held in Málaga from February 24-26, 2026. 👉 Transfiere is recognised as one of Europe’s leading forums for knowledge transfer, R&D, and innovation, bringing together companies, research centres, universities, public administrations, investors, and technology‑driven organisations. It serves as a strategic platform that promotes the circulation of knowledge and its direct application to the productive sector, fostering connections between science, business, and institutions in an international setting. 🎯 During the event, our project partner @ITC_ceramica took the lead in disseminating the goals of the project. Through discussions with industry representatives, researchers, and stakeholders, they highlighted how the project promotes advanced #energyaudits to support Europe’s #energyintensive industries (#EIIs) in reducing consumption, improving #energyefficiency, and accelerating their transition toward #decarbonisation. 🔍 Industry and Energy Efficiency: Key Takeaways According to the Energy Efficiency 2025 report by the International Energy Agency: Industry remains a major driver of energy consumption and demand growth. 👉 In 2025, #industry is producing 20% more value with a given amount of energy than two decades ago 👉 Firms report efficiency as the first line of defence against price volatility and cost resilience 👉 Companies prioritise efficiency actions with short payback periods instead of deeper upgrades with higher savings However, #energyefficiency progress has slowed dramatically: 📉 Improvements have dropped from ~2% annually to less than 0.5%. ⚡ Short-term solutions exist — efficient motors, variable speed drives, heat pumps — with significant impact potential. 🏭 Energy-intensive sectors require strategic, long-term decarbonization plans, not just incremental efficiency measures. 🏛 Policy updates with real incentives and alignment with EU efficiency targets are still pending. 🎯 The challenge is clear: accelerating energy efficiency in the industry is essential for Europe to meet its climate and competitiveness goals.
