@alyssajada07@tom_karnes@doctor2pi Classmates are also facing similar issues so if everyone tries something new, at the end of the day we have a large list of resources that could or could not work and why
@tom_karnes A4) to finding new ways to incorporate technology, I would go to a classmate just to get there in-site on things and try it for my self, I would get others opinions and see if it works for me. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
Last evening of the Slow Chat! Here's the next question. Make sure you include A4) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@tom_karnes Q4: My team is always my first stop to look for new technology, but surprisingly TikTok has been an amazing resource to find new tech! It helps to see how real teachers use it with their class in similar grade levels to see how it may fit with your class #CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@tom_karnes A4) While it seems like a waste of time to many, it never hurts to try something new. If a lesson with a new resource doesn't work take what you've learned and adapt it, students will also be excited to try something new @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTEd
@MsChavez94@Ststansberry@DrEddiesClass This is also perfect for tracking progress, students can go back and examine how they have improved their vocabulary or public speaking over the course of months or even from the beginning to the end of the year
@Ststansberry@DrEddiesClass A3) Voicethread can be beneficial to multilingual learners because it allows them to practice their oral speech privately and it takes away that fear of public speech. It also gives teachers a way to access a child. #csubted#csubedte4200@DrEddiesClass
Wednesday fun! Here's the next question in the CSUB EDTE4200 Slow Chat. Make sure you include A3) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@kguillen1311@Ststansberry I use google translate to check my spelling / grammar for messages I send parents just to make sure I don't cause any confusion
@Ststansberry A3) Google translate is a good tool that could be used to communicate with parents and students. It could also be used to send text messages and emails. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@Ststansberry
@Ststansberry A3) Teachers can translate slideshows and important handouts with the help of Google Translate and online Spanish grammar checkers. Even if the translation isn't perfect, a lesson in a student's native tongue is impactful #CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@dgutierrez36@doctor2pi Hello Dora, I haven't used GoNoodle just yet, do you think this would be appealing to high school students (I have sophomores, juniors and seniors)
@doctor2pi A2) A resource I would recommend is GoNoodle to use for brain breaks. I used this a lot when I was an after school teacher. It can be a fun tool for you students when it’s time to take a breather if class is getting a bit overwhelming. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
@rosales_italia@doctor2pi@Ststansberry Hello Italia, my kids love Kahoot too but I have recently switched to Blooket uses the same game-like environment but goes at the speed each student needs. That way students have time to analyze the question while still having fun.
@doctor2pi A2) I would recommend using Kahoot. It keeps students engaged. It allows you to make quizzes & if you have a student that speaks another language, you can put the translated version of the question & answers along with the English version.
#CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@Ststansberry
@doctor2pi A2) My students love Blooket, Blooket allows for students to learn from questions you make at the speed they want while competing with their friends. A student who is struggling can take as long as they need while still having fun #CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@IrisLopez989560@doctor2pi Parent input is a valuable resource, their ideas could potentially help guide lesson plans in a way that engages students more
@doctor2pi A) Q1: Teachers and parents can collaborate together on class dojo to communicate any concerns and ideas. Regarding the students academic, social, and emotional needs. Both parties can focus on learning the students interest in tech. tech.@doctor2pi#CSUBTED#EDTE4200
@doctor2pi Teachers & parents can connect through the Class Dojo app. Through this app teachers can communicate with parents on how their student is performing in class and notify parents of any assignments or homework the student may need to turn in. #CSUBTED
@doctor2pi Teachers can use tools such as class dojo to communicate with parents frequently and effectively. This can help parents engage their children at home and create a sense of community among teachers, students, and parents
