@snoproscott These temporary plugs are fine for the sidewall. The package will tell you not to do that, but that’s just because they can’t legally recommend it. Pop one of these string plugs in, drive to the tire shop, and you saved $150 on a tow

@Mvice89 @snoproscott You can do it to get home. The main reason tire shops don’t do it is because their insurance won’t let them take on that liability. The second reason is the plugs they use have a flat disc that would separate from the flexing

@_midori_me_ @megievalist They only needed one rooster so the young males would get eaten unless they needed to replace the old rooster and hens would be butchered when they stopped yielding as many eggs

@megievalist Not a whole ass chicken though. Not unless peasant meant you were actually well-off but just not of noble birth. Most peasants ate little meat except on holidays. A whole chicken would be a huge waste of money to a family struggling to get by.

@grubbybroom @Craquerweit7 @AngelMD1103 @TeamTrump47 Power is transmitted on the residential in 3 phases, most residences have 2 of the phases fed in, 1 phase to neutral gives you ~110~120VAC power, you sway the neutral on the circuit in question for the other phase and you’re feeding 220~240VAC through that circuit

A woman shares a story about moving into a small rental just two months ago. Everything seemed normal—until her electric bill came in insanely high, almost matching what she used to pay in a much bigger home. On top of that, her water heater kept tripping. Something felt off, but she couldn’t figure out what. While she was on vacation, the previous owner’s caregiver left a note on her door: “Check your power… the neighbor might be stealing it.” When she got back, she called the police, the power company, and the new owners. After investigating, they discovered an underground cable running from her property straight into the neighbor’s house—powering their entire home. Turns out, the same neighbor had been doing this even when the previous owner—a terminally ill elderly man—lived there and couldn’t afford his bills. That’s not just theft—that’s calculated, long-term exploitation of someone vulnerable. It’s one thing to scam a system… it’s another to literally drain power from a sick old man and then continue doing it to the next person like nothing happened. That’s next-level cold. What would you do if you found out your neighbor had been secretly using your electricity this whole time—press charges or just cut them off and move on?

@NickMills6987 @symplyDAPO What’s the purpose of standing in the alley with a gun and pointing the gun at the guy over the box-spring being placed in the communal dumpster? A reasonable person is going to say there wasn’t a great reason to generate this conflict

@BetwayAnalysis @MadDuck68317982 We have dangerous areas but the difference is staggering. If you walk around SA the likelihood that an individual you come across is one that will kill your for a simple robbery is 20x greater or more than the same of an individual encountered in the US

@BetwayAnalysis @MadDuck68317982 In the United States about 12 murders happen every day. In South Africa it’s 4-8 times this despite having 1/5 of the population and even a smaller fraction of the geographic area

@tlm202103 @KitchenBites_ For the yeast to ferment. Otherwise the dough will not rise. If you’re just using baking powder there’s no need to add sugar but it may taste funny. Alternatively you can add amylase to the dough and this will allow some of the starches to break down into sugars for the yeast

🚨BREAKING: FedEx driver who abducted and strangled 7-year-old Athena Strand told investigators, 'If you give me a month with my family, so I can have Christmas with my son, I'll tell you everything.' Tanner Horner, 34, opened the interview saying, “I imagine that you have, basically, a list and bullet points that you want to know from me.” Horner then said, “There’s only one thing in this world that I want. I want a month.” He added, “You can’t do that, I understand. Even if y’all have to put an ankle monitor on me, GPS monitor, check-ups with you.” Horner told investigators, “If you give me a month with my family, so I can have Christmas with my son, I’ll tell you everything.” When told that was not possible while he was under arrest for murder, he replied, “Either way, that’s basically my price.”

🚨BREAKING: The FedEx driver who abducted and strangled 7-year-old girl in North Texas complained to police about missing out on watching his son grow up after being arrested for murder Detectives urged Tanner Horner, 34, to help locate 7-year-old Athena Strand’s body after he admitted, “I killed her” and said he “kind of tossed her” remains in bushes Horner begged officers to “shoot him” after confessing to the murder “I’m going to miss out on this part of my child’s f***ing life, OK? I can’t.” “This isn’t one of those probation things. This is one of those I’m going away for a long time things, and I’m going to miss out on all of my f***ing son’s life. I would rather die.” The detective told him, “This is a hard thing. It is a hard thing. But I tell you this, Tanner, you’re going to be OK.” Horner answered, “No. I’m not. I’m going to miss out on all my son’s Christmases, his birthdays, and growing up. I’m going to miss out on everything. All because I listened to some stupid voice that isn’t probably even there.”
