I’m sorry, you shouldn’t go up by a percentage of a bar in the #Glastonbury ticket queue.

This is depressingly passive, isn't it? We had a go on Thursday for coaches and eventually the two bars started refreshing and increasing but that took a while to happen, then didn't happen fast enough. Good luck everyone! #Glastonbury

@danielmloftus A polite reply to say you'll take a look, then run like the wind! I have "tree issues" written on many of my DNA matches 😁

I take it I can't just respond to someone who's asking me where I fit into their mangled tree to say, 'Your tree is a mess'. Could I? 😅 Like, it is bad - I'm not sure it could be salvaged. I am struggling to try and understand where I would even fit into this. 😟

@digupancestors @GRScogings Far more accurate method. It seems like a lot of bells and whistles for very little information. There's too much animation and extra screens on this update too.

@AuntieP @GRScogings I don't understand why they think people need to know that trait from a DNA report. All we have to do is eat asparagus to get the same information!

I’m baffled by my updated #AncestryDNA ancestral regions report, which has me with 9% Cornwall, coming from my paternal side. I am not aware of any Cornish family history. Has anyone else had Cornwall popping up in their DNA profile this week?

@digupancestors @GRScogings They wouldn't be wrong in that, but they're wrong to think my wee smells of asparagus so I'm not taking their word for anything any more.

@AuntieP @GRScogings Maybe they've mixed this up with traits - the trait being 'do you like Cornish pasties'? (I do).

@digupancestors This is still confusing to me as I know I definitely have Cornish ancestors but my updated dna had no Cornish added but did have Dutch for some reason

@digupancestors Yes. I'm confused. I know for certain I have Devon going way back, then it's Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, with some Buckinghamshire thrown in. All lines quite long, all my father's side. Where is this Cornwall coming from in such abundance? My map used to look like what I know.

Someone on Facebook is trying to sell me an umbrella that looks like a Tunnock's Teacake, and I've had to hide my credit card.

@AncestralEnq I bought the latest version about 6 months ago. Soon after I had an email about the forthcoming 'upgrade'. I emailed them, saying why would you allow me to buy what will be an outdated version in a few months? They said the upgrade when released, will be free to me? We shall see!

I have just received an email about the latest Family Tree Maker upgrade which is £39.99 for the next 3 days. Usual price is £80. Is anyone else planning to upgrade? I didn't bother with the last one as the upgrade didn't look that interesting. I used to get them for free.

Bewildered by the new @AncestryUK #AncestryDNA update 2024. Previously my map resembled my tree, what I knew. Now I have new regions that make no sense, and regions I know with certainty have gone. Currently debating with my cousin. #AncestryHour

Hurrah! @findmypast has finally stopped the infuriating requirement for a login each and every single day. It will take a few more days, I expect, before I start approaching the site without that inward groan of irritation in anticipation of the annoyance. #AncestryHour

This is the news and is a first for me being in print! If you flick to page 36 of today’s @IrishMailSunday, you’ll spot me & @cbgenealogy talking about #DNA and #Tuam. (Posting for those who can’t get the paper.) (Thank you to @Nicola6byrne & @Chesterpics)

Heads up. You’d do a lot worse with you time than looking to the medieval past and seeing how they made things work. We talk about sustainability and being apocalypse ready. They literally had no electricity, no fresh running water, no heating. Look to the past for inspiration!

Trying to clear the loft a little. My father's farming archives back to the late 1940s. What do I keep and what do I throw?

I realise that it's early days, but I get the feeling that these two consecutive pages from the parish register of St Michael & All Angels, Pirbright in Surrey, may serve as a metaphor for the philosophies of our past and present governments...
