@henrywinter 1st tournament we have missed since 2014. We cannot justify the price. We paid £100 for a Euros final ticket. Russia and Qatar got slaughtered but at least they made it affordable

If* England reach the World Cup final (if* etc), they will not sell out their official FA allocation. The cost of tickets in the most expensive two categories are putting off members of England Supporters Travel Club. There will be only 3,409 England fans present at MetLife Stadium on July 19 via the official FA allocation of 4,500. The two cheapest categories were oversubscribed by members. But the most expensive categories were undersubscribed, especially Cat 1 ($8,680) also Cat 2 ($5,575). Semi-final also undersubscribed. Of the official FA allocation of 3,500, only 2,686 taken up by members if* England reach the semi (members baulking at the most expensive tickets, Cat 1 $3,170 and Cat 2 $2,440). All England games up to and including the quarter-final are oversubscribed. "And we’re having to fork out for those tickets now (payments taken from 9-22 Feb)," one England fan says. "We get the money back later in the summer if England don’t get knock-out games we’ve paid for." #ENG 🦁🦁🦁

Tell you who else is bang average, Olly Casey. The team is dire… relying on Ashworth and CJ as our only width as they are camped in our own half. No legs in midfield, 2 lumps up top with 0 pace. We’ve never looked more league 2 End the season already

@BlackpoolFC @sbk What a moment, one I’ll never forget if I’m honest. It rare we do this! Let’s hope this is the turning point now, we’ve started too slow in games and ultimately not been good enough so far.

3,000 West Ham fans attended this protest against the board before the Palace match. These well-organised protests will continue. Board either has to sell or begin properly acknowledging fans’ concerns - and acting on them (altho’ they’re stuck with an athletics stadium). #WHUFC

@LeanneSmith82 It’s not the time to sack him. It seems unpopular being positive but I thought we played well today and absolutely no chance we should have lost that game. I’m confident Bruce can sort it out

Thomas Tuchel can be properly be judged only in the knockout stages of the World Cup. By expanding the tournament, FIFA has made it so easy for most leading teams to qualify and progress. England, fourth in the Fifa rankings, take on Andorra, ranked 174th, at Villa Park at 5pm UK today so three points are expected. Whoever starts let’s see five things in particular… 1. Think forward first and fast. Move the ball quickly against the inevitable low block. Don’t go back or sideways so often. Attack. England’s squad and team strengths are in going forward so use them. 2. Go one-on-one, take opponents on, go full John Barnes, express yourself. Let’s see some real width and wing-play - whether Madueke, Rashford, Gordon, Bowen, let the wingers take on their full-backs, going outside, crossing for Kane or cutbacks to Rice. More centrally, the likes of Rogers (a Tuchel favourite), Gibbs-White and Eze, who starts wide and comes in, can commit and beat opponents. Lads, it’s Andorra. Obdurate last time out but only because England were too sluggish.    3. New blood, new hope. Let’s see what Elliot Anderson can do alongside Rice. He’s fearless. Anderson can take the ball from Pickford, from the defence and progress it swiftly through the thirds. His passing is good, probably under-rated (not by Forest fans). He can tackle, cover. Anderson is the future, Jordan Henderson the past (and acknowledging what a great servant Henderson has been for England). Let’s have a look at Spence and Livramento at full-backs, either starting or coming on. Good defensively one-on-one and getting forward. And if one of the newcomers makes a mistake, keep going, keep supporting them. 4. Build the Guehi-Konsa partnership. If Stones is deemed an injury risk for the World Cup, and Colwill out, every chance to build the Guehi-Konsa understanding should be seized. Defence remains England’s biggest concern. Pickford rightly remains undisputed No 1. And England will continue to remain indebted to this reliable, determined shot-stopper. 5. Reset the mood. There’s slight negativity around England atm. Of course they are not as good as Argentina, France, Spain or Brazil. But Tuchel is an elite-level manager, a tactician who can change games late on. England do have exceptional individual talent on show today.  Plus Bellingham, Palmer, Saka, Foden (all injured) and Trent (dropped) to return. Plus the huge promise of Wharton. It’s about building a strong collective. England have the coach and the players to go far at the World Cup. They have incredible support from the fans at home and on the road. They have all the backing and facilities from the FA. England just need to get the team balance right, play without fear and keep the key players fit. #ENG

West Ham didn’t know how lucky they were to have Upton Park, they should never have left. Has always been my favourite ground to visit as an away fan, bar none. 🥺

If Apter wants to jump ship after 1 half decent season in league one then see you later. Will be nowhere near ready for the champ. Who advises these players?

@henrywinter Was he ever that good in the 1st place? We’re saturated in that position now and it seems the managers would rather have a hard working Bowen over a potentially more talented Sancho

The last time England played Andorra, Jadon Sancho provided a series of fine crosses from the left, including 2 assists. That was 4 years ago. Sancho's not represented #ENG since. A look at where it went wrong - and how he can refind his way. #CFC #MUFC open.substack.com/pub/henrywinte…

Managed to secure tickets to the Ashes at the Gabba last night and looking for a favour from a Blackpool fan… Has anyone got an England flag with Blackpool FC on that I could borrow to take to Australia? Drop me a message if you can help!

@BlackpoolFC Backed the players from the 1st whistle. How it should be really. I wouldn’t even say Barnsley played that bad, we were just fantastic. One of the best performances for a long time.

The club absolutely stinks and nothing will change until there is a change in ownership. From the top to the bottom its rotten.

@AllonbyTroy I think there has been investment but it’s more the players we have spent it on. Dom Thompson a good example. The players that have come in Jan have all scored and contributed to games. Any half decent player will always get sold on, it’s what we’ve always done
