Anyone with functional grey matter knows if these projects were commercially viable on their own merits, governments wouldn’t need to preserve special tax treatment for foreign investors while reducing incentives for Australians trying to build wealth themselves. Australians are entitled to ask whether the system is now being designed around attracting multinational capital rather than rewarding local productivity, ownership and investment.
