This is what i have said for a while. Why would he just accept us giving him a new deal if we feel like it? Also he’s on a salary before he won a league title, he probably feels he should have been compensated for it

Don’t rule out Arne Slot leaving @LFC on his own request. He wants a new contract. 😟 He won’t get that without clauses. He could walk….

X is becoming unusable to get reliable information... The monetization is creating a powerful incentive to post "*breaking* FAKE news" ... this is all while everyone is asking "@ Grok is this real?" because no one can confirm anything. Public Townhall is slowly becoming Misinformation Central.

What’s happening with $META? There are two things weighing on the stock right now: - Concerns about skyrocketing capex. - Delays in the launch of new AI model. Neither of these materially change the outlook and the stock is undervalued here. Yes, capex is elevated but they are seeing solid return on their bottom line unlike other hyperscalers that are yet to see return on their AI investments. Their GEM ad ranking model delivered 5% conversion uplift for Instagram ads and 3% uplift for Facebook feed ads. On top of this, their video generation tools reached $10 billion annual run rate. They are seeing real ROI right now which justifies spending. Zuck also said in the last earnings call that operating income growth will be strong enough to absorb the D&A spike. They are the last hyperscaler to worry about the capex as their ROI is current and direct. Second, delaying launch of new AI model disappointed the market as investors think it signals a weakness in their AI unit. I don’t think this is the right way to see it. All the big AI labs previously delayed model launches as models may require more than expected fine-tuning and optimization post-training to reach their true potential. This isn’t the first time we are seeing it. OpenAI delayed GPT-5 many times and Anthropic scrapped Opus 3.5 altogether and focused directly on Opus 4.0. In short, it’s the only mega-cap already seeing tangible ROI from AI and it’s also the cheapest one at 19x forward earnings with around 15-18% annual growth expectation by 2030. It’s cheap relative to other mega-caps, and it’ll be an absolute no-brainer if it comes down to 16-17x forward earnings.

@wallstengine 100 They will be in court a lot next few months whereby precedent could be set but likely drags on for years and metta pays out a large one time sum that stops them having to battle thousands of individual cases. Long term I'm sure they will be fine

Evercore ISI on $META: "The persistent question we have gotten from investors over the last 24 hours is: Is this META’s Big Tobacco moment? In other words, is META uninvestable today? It is possible, but we think it is unlikely. We would not claim the ability to handicap the different legal and financial outcomes here related to current lawsuits. But we would point out several key points. First, our best estimate is that users aged 8-13 likely account for a mid-single-digit percentage of META’s global 3.6B Daily Average Users. Second, it is important to note that Facebook and Instagram policies do not allow users under 13. Third, questions about META’s impact on children are not new to investors; this has been a topic for several years now. Fourth, arguably unlike Big Tobacco, social media provides a variety of positive social benefits as a communication, entertainment, information, and connectivity tool. Fifth, with today’s correction, META is trading at a 16x P/E multiple, within 10% of its three-year trough multiple."

They will appeal and unlikely verdict reversed. However, they will drag out in courts for many years. The executive incentive scheme is PR to try combat this - ve news cycle showing how invasive their technology is. They will be in court next 3 months where precedent may be set
Adam Khoo@adamkhootrader

Meta Platform (META) dropped 8% and Alphabet (GOOGL) dropped -3% as they were found liable for intentionally designing addictive platforms that contributed to the mental health struggles of a young user who was below age 13 at the time. She is now aged 20 and she was awarded $4.2 million Investors are panicking over the fact that this may lead to tighter regulations which may force companies to remove features that make these apps less addictive, hence restricting future growth. Before you panic and sell META or GOOGL, consider these few facts 1) There is a chance the companies will appeal and eventually reverse the decision 2) The minimum age for opening a social media account has already been raised to age 13 in the US ( and the minimum age is 16 in many other countries like Europe, Australia ). Meta's proactive deployment of Instagram Teen accounts with parental supervision tools represents a credible litigation defence that could weaken new mandates legislators may seek to impose. 3) Even if this leads to new legislation that creates a uniform national compliance standard, it will disproportionately hurt smaller competitors, which will in fact improve META and GOOGL’s competitive positioning. 4) Over 3.67 billion people use META’s apps daily (2/3rd of the world’s internet population). The young user represents an insignificant percentage. A few days ago, META launched a stock option plan for its top executives. To unlock the full value of these incentives, META must reach $9 trillion market capitalization by 2031, which requires the stock price to climb over 500% to approximately $3,727 per share. I and holding an adding more for the ride up! The best time to add high quality monopolistic compounders is whenever they get HIT by BAD NEWS!

Open sourcing the model is just a PR stunt for what is deeply invasive technology!

Meta has lost $73 billion on Reality Labs since 2020. Wall Street calls it the most expensive money pit in tech history. Then today, quietly, the FAIR team in Paris releases a model that predicts how your brain responds to anything you see, hear, or read. 70x higher resolution than v1. Zero-shot predictions for people it has never scanned. The training data: 700+ volunteers watched movies and listened to podcasts inside fMRI machines for 1,115 total hours. The model learned how visual cortex, auditory cortex, and language centers fire simultaneously, then built a single architecture that maps all of it. The competition results tell you how far ahead they are. TRIBE v1 already won first place in Algonauts 2025, beating 262 other teams. V2 is a 2-3x improvement on top of that, with 70x the spatial resolution. Here's what nobody is connecting. Meta also builds Ray-Ban smart glasses with cameras and microphones. They're developing a neural interface wristband that reads EMG signals from your arm. They run the largest advertising platform on earth, one that generated $200 billion in revenue last year by predicting which content keeps you engaged. TRIBE v2 tells them exactly which brain regions activate when you watch a 15-second Reel. Which neurons fire when an ad plays in your peripheral vision. How language processing changes when you're listening versus reading. They open-sourced the model. That's the part that should make you pay closer attention. Meta open-sources things when the research advantage is already captured and the ecosystem benefit of external researchers improving the model exceeds the competitive risk. They did it with LLaMA. They're doing it again. A company spending $135 billion in capex this year did not build a digital twin of the human brain for academic citations. They built the prediction layer for every piece of hardware and every ad impression they'll sell for the next decade. The $73 billion was never about the metaverse. It was about understanding the 20-watt computer that decides what every human pays attention to.

If Meta possesses a "digital twin" of the human brain that tells them exactly which neurons fire to trigger a dopamine hit, it becomes nearly impossible to argue in court that their "addictive features" (like infinite scroll) were accidental or just for "user convenience!

Zuch's executive incentive scheme announcement came out to try and front run the impending negative news cycle around the law suits.... Didn't work and I doubt Meta hitting 9 trillion by 2031!
Rihard Jarc@RihardJarc

You have $META CFO’s stock option plan exercise price reaching the price of $3727 for 2031 at the same time the stock today trades at $562 (under 20x this years expected earnings). If the options strike price would be reached $META would return 563% in the next 5 years.

As the man groomed by Diddy who went on to help him groom Bieber (allegedly), he's wise to not open the floodgates to his own reckoning which will still come. Stockholm Syndrome is intensifying in the industry as the men who were groomed deal with their internalized shame and middle age and gotta lie to kick it

Ben White's return to the England fold after his lengthy self-imposed exile borders on the insulting to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who continues to be overlooked by Thomas Tuchel at right-back. Reece James injured, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier retired internationally and now the withdrawal of Jarell Quansah (seen as right-back cover by Tuchel). And Alexander-Arnold still not called. Real Madrid's right-back in the Champions League. A player whose passing can change games. A tournament shootout penalty-taker. White drafted into squad because of injury to Quansah. Be interesting to see the reaction of England fans - let alone Alexander-Arnold. White has to explain why he turned his back on England for three and a half years. Expect some skilled FA video content. Gareth Southgate said in March 2024 that White had indicated to him that he didn't want to be considered for England. There's always been speculation about a fall-out between White and Southgate's assistant Steve Holland (Southgate denied this). Tuchel clearly doesn't rate Alexander-Arnold, a situation that gets ever stranger. White obviously a more defensive full-back; can get forward but lacks Alexander-Arnold's impact. He did well when coming on for Dani Carvajal against Atletico last night. Made Vinicius Junior's second goal. Harvey Barnes, who has one cap, comes in for the injured Eberechi Eze for the squad to face Uruguay on Friday and Japan on March 31. #ENG
