The NEPA supervisor in charge of my street helps people bypass their meters for ₦15,000. Some houses haven't recharged in months. Why recharge when ₦15,000 buys you unlimited light. Yesterday something went wrong during one of his bypass operations. Blew up every electronic in the house. One tenant who had been against the bypass from the beginning descended on him. Turns out the man is a police officer. The NEPA guy is currently in the station. You cannot collect ₦15,000 to blow up somebody's TV and expect to go home safely. 😂 We are our own problem in this country.

Two nights ago, heavy thunderstorm damaged the street transformer. Entire area has been in darkness since. Now Champions League final is tomorrow Saturday. Funny enough, his former landlord has been calling to reconcile and asking if he can come around so he can watch the match and charge phones. If you were the former tenant… Would you: 1. Forgive and let him come to your house. 2. Inform him ahead of the match that you are not in town. 3. Send him a message that he will get the score line by daybreak.
