The Albanese government is facing a more than 21,000 tradie headache that risks driving up rents, home prices and interest rates.
Latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows that in the three months to February there was a 21,600 construction job shortfall across the country.
It’s a 19.3 per cent jump from November, when there were just 18,100 construction sector jobs employers were seeking to fill.
Importing them doesn't work, either fake qualifications, or not up to Aust standards, unemployable in the trades.
But Albo is too distracted calling for national addresses to say nothing. While fuelling inflation with insane spending that’s keeping inflation high and therefore mortgage rates higher for longer.
This PM is incompetent and has no clue what he’s doing!

These CGT changes are NOT ABOUT addressing the housing crisis. The housing crisis is entirely of Labor’s making through the mass immigration of future Labor voters, the last thing the government wants is to “fix” that
This is a dangerous structural change. Labor want to push renters in to Soviet style cheap build-to-rent apartments owned by firms like BlackRock. To do that they must quickly exit the current housing investors from the market
Labor can soup this up as being about housing equity but it’s only going to create more inequality
The true motivation is to create bigger structural changes to reduce low and middle income earners access to housing and creating greater government control. Greater dependency on the government (for your job, or your home, the $$$ gravy train) results in more guaranteed votes
Ironically these property changes have been pushed by politicians with extreme inherited wealth. MPs like Allegra Spender whose personal fortune is apparently $125 million. But don’t worry their assets are likely to be grandfathered. This is about ensuring everyone is not allowed what they’ve got
