There are a few possibilities. Perhaps concept artist Alex Toth made the suggestion to turn Giganta into a giantess & arch foe of Apache Chief. Or maybe it was senior Hanna-Barbera executive Iwao Takamoto. Alas, there is no evidence showing who made that lasting decision.
