The Autism CARES (H.R. 7213) will be considered in the House Energy and Commerce Committee tomorrow morning. Please don't let them forget how important it is for autistic people who require lifetime, 24/7 care to be clearly provided for in the language of this bill this year.

Others with autism have significant disabilities and are unable to live independently. About 25 percent of individuals with ASD have very limited verbal language proficiency but can learn to communicate using augmentative communication. #EmbraceAutism

About 70 percent have average to above-average intellectual abilities. There are also many persons on the spectrum that take deserved pride in their unique abilities and “atypical” ways of learning.

Do you know why it's called the "autism spectrum?" Many folks with #Autism Spectrum Disorder have exceptional visual and memorization skills, excel in high-interest areas, such as music, technology, and academics.
