Yesterday i felt a sign of relief, happiness and joy in my heart not because of the Eid-ul-Adha celebration but because i was able to fulfill my promise to God Almighty for fulfilling every of my prayer requests during the last 10days of ramadan. I did somethings that i never thought i could have done alone. This is how i have approached life since i was an adult, i put my prayers forward with a promise to either stop a bad habit or do a good deed continuously and it has worked for me that way. Alhamdulilah!!! And Goodmorning to you

If i was much younger and i had the opportunity to reverse a mistake made in my life would be when i was in 100L first semester in uni. I was stubborn, refused to heed i didn’t take the studies seriously maybe because what I applied for wasn’t what I was given. My eyes blurr when results came out and i had a master D in virtually all my courses. Then reality sets in. How was i able to reverse this and graduated with a 3.3CGPA is one of the strangest discoveries to me. Yes i did reversed it but the mistake was already done, if i had taken it seriously from the get go maybe i would have made a 1st class or 2.1 and been able to apply for roles with much better results that requires it.

Me on my first day at my 35k insurance job. With my Bsc & Masters Degree. I was optimistic, grateful i had something in hand—something i can wake up to and tell my family i was heading to work. I have never dressed corporately before—in short i will tell you how i got these clothes, earlier before i resumed i bought two of these shirts from @AdelekeDE he can confirm this. I got a tie from a friend, and i went to one kofa wombai to get the trouser, everything was looking good. To tell you i haven’t done this before you can see my tie not even in the appropriate place, I didn’t care because I thought it was right. The day i resumed it was raining i didnt want to come all damped so i removed the shirt and put on a polo top when i arrived at the office i went to change at the security post. Before entering the building. This was my first employment after NYSC I didn’t want to say NO rather use it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Money was low but i brought in my best to the job.

As shared in my DMs. Opay's salary structure and compensation breakdown. This is ridiculously unfortunate.

Dear @OPay_NG You also position as a global brand. How much do you pay your staff? Is this true? Is it currently fair earning to collect sub200K as customer service? This conversation is beyond what directors earn. How do you treat entry level employees?

You studied political science, but you're looking for a job in the bank? You studied religious studies, but you want to work in the bank? That's the reason for most unemployment in Nigeria!

No matter where you find yourself be happy for people. Be genuinely happy for them, When i resumed at my work place newly i had a guy who have spent over 5yrs but yet to get to the level i was given. Each day he will be murmuring that i just came and i was giving a juicy position and they even make me he’s head, that him have been here and nothing. I kept my cool, this kept on going on for some months then one day I confronted him, i told him you don’t want to know what i went through to get here because you just saw me here and you concluded that i knew someone. He apologized and i left, i kept my distance from him. Ladies and gentlemen he was sacked last December, apparently he was caught skimming our cash and depositing inside his personal account. He tried to resign but it was rejected and management counter it with a sack letter and named blacklisted. My question was that he didn’t do this since he came it only started few months ago. I didn’t know what his intention was. I wish him well in his future endeavor

The problem with many educated Nigerians is that they put their hope on getting a job rather than building one. The root cost of this is that we see education as an investment rather than gaining knowledge. Education shouldn’t be treated as an investment. It is very wrong.

Humans are truly built differently: some handle things easily, while others are just not so good at it. Stay with me, I used to have a friend in uni whom we fell out due to some unknown reasons. I called it unknown because he refused to speak with me, and I tried confronting him several times as to why he was no longer talking to me. He still refused to open up. I had to just let him be. Before then, we literally did everything together: we lived in the same compound, ate together, went to school together, and more. We were more like pals. So I thought to myself, if this guy can go for like 6 months without telling me what I did wrong so we could address it, then he’s a dangerous person. We went on like that until something happened in our compound and he was arrested. Nobody went to bail him. I had to go to the police station and bail him out. I didn’t talk to him; I just did what I came for and was about to leave when he told me to wait. He thanked me for bailing him out and asked why I still came to bail him despite him not talking to me. I told him that in life we are humans first before anything. If you are in trouble, despite us not talking, I will not deny you your due because of your attitude towards our friendship. He pleaded for me to forgive him. I said I held nothing against him, and I asked him again what exactly happened. He told me that during the holidays he asked me for some money to solve urgent issues and that I refused him. I was like, but I told you I didn’t have it, and he said I bought a new phone that period and refused to come through for him. I was devastated and told him that if he had told me this since, I would still have given him the money even after he no longer needed it. As at that time I didn’t have it, and the phone was gifted to me by my brother. He was like, oh I’m very sorry. I told him you didn’t create room for dialogue; how was I supposed to know? Everything went well, but I refused to continue that friendship because that kind of mindset is dangerous around me. That made me trust people less and not feel attached too much to anything. Anyone can fuck up at any time. I forgave but I didn’t forget that he threw our friendship under the bus for just something we could easily talk about.
