🏆 We won the Hackathon for MCP & AI Agents 2026! The @Itential Hackathon Team is incredibly proud to share that our kagent_vision project took home first place in the MCP & AI Agents Starter Track at MCP_HACK//26. Knowing that our submission was reviewed by a panel like Kelsey Hightower, Chris Aniszczyk (CTO, CNCF), Alan Blount (Google ADK), Nathan Taber (NVIDIA DGX Cloud), Carlos Santana (AWS), Keith Mattix II (Microsoft), my good friend @SebbyCorp , Lin Sun, Christian Posta, Dmytro Rashko, and Michael Levan — and being recognized by them — is humbling in the best way. This is a panel that has, quite literally, written the books on cloud-native and agentic AI. What made this win special was the how: this wasn't a one-person sprint. The Itential Hackathon Team collaborated tightly across engineering, product, and design to get kagent_vision across the line — late-night debugging sessions, whiteboard architecture battles, and the kind of "let's just try it" energy that only the best teams have. Every commit had a fingerprint on it. 🔓 And the best part — kagent_vision is fully open source. It's a kagent Agent with Vision: capture photos, transform them with Nano Banana, animate them with Veo3 — and yes, it supports ASL. You can clone it, run it, break it, extend it. The whole point of MCP is composability, and we want builders to take this and run with it. 👉 Repo: lnkd.in/dtD46m9F 👉 Hackathon: aihackathon.dev Huge thanks to solo.io and the entire MCP_HACK//26 organizing crew for putting on a world-class event, and to the global MCP community for being one of the most exciting places to build right now. And a huge thanks to Jessica Newland @AutomateIP Ankit Bhansali @MacroEngineered @KristenHRachels Holly Holcomb Jesse Ford Peter Sprygada for being part of the hackathon team ! As a team we have agreed to donate 100% of the $1000 prize to the Atlanta Humane Society. Ultimately the Vision Agent prize will go to helping the dogs and cats of Atlanta. For this, I am even more proud. #MCP #AIAgents #OpenSource #Hackathon #Itential #CloudNative #AgenticAI #kagent lnkd.in/d7cM8eGS

Opus 4.7 is officially out. I'm about to let it rip on Claude Code. We'll see what happens....

So check this out I go out on vacation and then my RSA expires on GitLab which breaks a lot of stuff. That puts a whole different meaning to forgetting your password after coming back from vacation :)

@John_Capobianco any luck playing with gemma4 or qwen3.5-big? I'm having decent results but the speed is just not there at least on my MAC. Wondering if it would be better on my RTX 4080.

I take the week off and Anthropic goes and leaks their Claude Code code base. I guess I should take time more often.

# NetClaw Update - New Integrations Two new MCP integrations and four new skills just landed in @openclaw NetClaw. We are up to 330 stars and 81 forks! --- ## Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Enterprise MCP NetClaw now speaks Ansible. Full integration with Red Hat's Ansible Automation Platform through four independent MCP servers: **AAP Controller** (45 tools) — Inventory management, job template execution and monitoring, project SCM sync, ad-hoc commands, host and group management, dynamic inventory sources, and Ansible Galaxy collection and role discovery. **Event-Driven Ansible** (12 tools) — Activation lifecycle management, rulebook listing and inspection, decision environment management, and event stream monitoring. **ansible-lint** (9 tools) — Playbook and role validation with configurable profiles, syntax checking, best practice enforcement, and project-wide analysis. **Red Hat Docs** — PDF-first documentation access across 50+ official Red Hat domains with version auto-detection. Three new skills put it all together: - `aap-automation` — Full automation lifecycle from inventory audit through playbook execution to result verification - `aap-eda` — Reactive automation triggered by external events flowing into EDA rulebooks - `aap-lint` — Quality gate for Ansible content before AAP deployment Source: github.com/sibilleb/AAP-E… --- ## Firewall Rule Analyzer MCP written by @AutomateIP Multi-vendor firewall rule analysis is now built into NetClaw. The fwrule MCP server detects overlap, shadowing, conflicts, and duplication across nine firewall platforms using six-dimensional set intersection analysis. **Supported vendors:** Palo Alto PAN-OS | Cisco ASA | Cisco FTD | Cisco IOS/IOS-XE | Cisco IOS-XR | Check Point | Juniper SRX | Juniper Junos | Nokia SR OS **3 tools:** - `analyze_firewall_rule_overlap` — Compare candidate rules against existing rulesets across zones, addresses, ports, protocols, actions, and applications - `parse_policy` — Normalize vendor-native configs into a standardized JSON schema - `list_supported_vendors` — Reference info on all supported platforms No credentials required. Works entirely on config text input as a pure offline analysis engine. Two input modes: pass raw vendor configs and let the built-in parsers handle it, or provide pre-normalized JSON directly. New skill: - `fwrule-analyzer` — Pre-change rule validation, cross-vendor policy audit, and ruleset hygiene workflows Source: github.com/AutomateIP/fwr… --- ## By the numbers - 5 new MCP servers (43 total) - 4 new skills (91 total) - 50 installation steps - Full UI HUD integration for both platforms All available now on the `aac_firewalls` branch.

I merged in more skills and MCPs into netclaw today ! More to come but I’ve added @AutomateIP firewall MCP as a skill and @ansible AAP as an MCP and Skill

Spent the morning refining some Claude Skills for my recurring tasks. The productivity boost from not having to copy-paste the same 5 prompts every day is massive. If you do it more than twice a week, build a Skill for it. Future you will appreciate the saved bandwidth.

I’ve been diving into @NVIDIA #Openshell today, and its really cool. For example, if you’re running Claude Code, you can explicitly lock down directories containing sensitive configs, .env files, or SSH keys. lnkd.in/ebdSU9vv

I haven't coded a mobile app in 14 years. Today, I vibe coded two apps using @FlutterDev and it was a total blast. I definitely don't miss the old Android SDK days. The developer experience has evolved so much - it's an exciting time to be building.

Wild things and a lot of fun!
John Capobianco@John_Capobianco

Something remarkable happened in the VibeOps Forum today - you really had to be there to understand but I connected netclaw to the general room and let people interface with my @openclaw CCIE Agent It started with some basic network questions and diagrams and images then into some *crazy* questions like @AutomateIP asking "configure VRF_VR1 and VRF_VL1 on R1. Add vasiright and vasileft interfaces to the respective VRF, BGP peer across them and create two loopbaks, one per VRF and proof that the BGP routes are advertised." And the whole time other people are red teaming against it too Here is netclaw's write up about what happened today automateyournetwork.ca/uncategorized/…

11 years ago I was faced with a loop on the network Despite me adamantly insisting it was STP it turned out to be a very specific UDLD bug
