NAME: Autry Hoefer LISTED HT: 6’0 LISTED GPA: 3.6 CLASS: 2028 LISTED WT: 180 LISTED 40: 4.7 LISTED SAT/ACT: N/A POSITION: RUNNING BACK (Size, Strength, Speed, Vision, Balance, Power, Toughness, Versatility) STRENGTHS: Young and strong runner who can work between the tackles or on the perimeter. Sees the field well to follow blockers or flow as the scheme develops where he does a good job picking up and cutting off color. He can improvise and create when the play breaks down while also running with good demeanor where he can take on contact and stay on his feet to fight for yards after contact. WEAKNESSES: Tough kid who plays the position strong with upside as he continues to improve strength levels in his lower half. Works with quick and active feet getting in and out of cuts but can take a minute for him to get back to his top end. Continuing to add strength and flexion to his core and lower half could add more burst through his transitions. Would like to see more of his versatility and potential to be an effective pass catcher working out of the back field. SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE: Instinctive back who can improvise to create yards and could benefit showing more ability to get downhill and grind out yards north/south. Owns a good set of physical tools that should only continue to improve with hard work in the weight room, stretching and on the track. Would continue to work on ball skills and prove he can be every down back not only pass protecting but catching the ball in 3rd down situations. OVERALL SUMMARY/POTENTIAL PROJECTION LEVEL: Has a high ceiling with another two years to continue building on the tools he already has in place. Should have early interest from the Division II and FCS levels with potential to project even higher as he gets stronger and continues to enhance his top end speed.
