@sandunky Did that one time. Er... adding in all the milk instead of little bit at a time. The soup, I think it was clam chowder or something, came out really watery and flavorless

@Avariko1 Really important to note that when you add the milk, you have to add it a little bit at a time and stir until it's incorporated before you add more. That was the part I was missing for so long when I tried and failed to make it in the past.

Very cool story bro, but I started making mac and cheese, assuming I had another can of evaporated milk (spoiler alert, I don't). Thankfully caught it early enough that I was able to start the sauce the old fashioned way, and the result is pretty good, actually.

@Avariko1 By making a roux base with butter and flour. Once the flour smell cooks off, you slowly add milk and incorporate until it has a sauce-like consistency, then you mix cheese in.
