@HSS_L_1758 @UD38525461 @_Gun_Samurai Both TNG and IST were derived from Indo-Portuguese matchlocks, which combined Luso-German and Turco-Indian gun-making tradition and technique. No direct record mentioning Japanese guns copied Malay guns, only record of Japanese copying Portuguese's.

@HSS_L_1758 @UD38525461 @_Gun_Samurai Tanegashima gun doesn't trace back to istinggar. Different mechanism, typology, etc. TNG uses V-shaped spring, IST uses single-leaf spring, so it cannot be claimed that TNG comes from IST. x.com/Averocious/sta…
Muhammad Averoes@Averocious

@TheUltraGuy101 @carstealer_my No, that's nationalist bs. Japan's Tanegashima used V-shaped spring, Malay istinggar used single-leaf spring. The buttstock shape isn't even the same albeit similar. Also, Malacca only used istinggar AFTER it got conquered by Portuguese.

When an ignition source is applied to the firing mechanism - a chain reaction starts that converts the gun powder into heat, sound and energy. We normally call it, a gunshot.

So, agree to disagree.

@Averocious @HastoSuprayogo @ColminIndonesia His father's name exists, his diary exists and is kept in Dutch and Indonesian museums, it is impossible for a country to make a fictional character a national hero or even include his name in the country's history book.

Admiral Malahayati (fl. 16th century) was a heroic woman who served as an admiral in the navy of the 16th century Aceh Sultanate. She led the ‘Amada Inong Bale’ - the Widow’s Armada - a fleet of battleships crewed by 2,000 brave female warriors. In November 2017, President Joko Widodo awarded Admiral Malahayati the honorary National Hero of Indonesia. This is her story told in 10 parts Part 1 - Royal blood and military education Keumalahayati was a descendant of the first Sultan of Aceh and the founder of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. Known as Malahayati she was born in the Sultanate of Aceh on 1 January 1550. Her father was Admiral Mahmud Syah. Her paternal grandfather was Admiral Muhammad Said Syah, son of Sultan Salahuddin who ruled the Sultanate of Aceh Darussalam around 1530-1539 AD. Sultan Salahuddin Syah was the son of Sultan Ibrahim Ali Mughayat Syah (1513–1530 AD), the founder of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. Malahayati attended an Islamic school (Pesantren). Whilst her mother wanted her to get married at the age of 15, Malahayati had developed a love of the sea from her father and was more interested in becoming an admiral like her father and grandfather. She chose to enter the Aceh Royal Military Academy, known as Ma’had Baitul Maqdis. At the Academy Malahayati's honed her military skills, learning a lot from her instructors, many of whom were naval officers from Turkey. Malahayati is no ordinary student, She is selected as best graduate of the Ma'had Baitul Maqdis military academy and completes her education with honours. In 1575, her father, Admiral Mahmud Syah, dies in battle against the Portuguese at the Portuguese Military Base "A Fomosa" Malacca. Malahayati is 25 years old. - - - * I started writing this story with the intention of creating a single post. However, the more I learned about Malahayati the more I thought worth sharing so that her story, and the historical context at the time, is more widely known. To be honest twitter is not really suited to long form posts like this and I’m curious how many of you will read until the end. I will post Parts 1-5 today and the parts 6 - 10 tomorrow. Apologies for any mistakes. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have enjoyed researching and writing the story of Malahayati.

@zhengmahuang @swarabakti Correct. History is formed from historiography, a methodology. Oral history position in historiography is very weak, for example the tale of Roro Jonggrang can't be used to write Medang History.

@swarabakti If "oral history" is called fictional, most of history from Sumatra are fictional. They have tambo etc and stuff as basis of their history

As great as it sounds, the legend of Malahayati is most probably fictive, perhaps based upon oral traditions but may have been influenced by post-independence Indonesian nationalist discourse.
Ali A Olomi@aaolomi

Malahayati of the Sultanate of Aceh was a legendary admiral who commanded a fleet of war widows. The daughter of an admiral, she received an Islamic education and would go on to become a symbol of anti-colonial resistance against the Dutch.

@carstealer_my @TheUltraGuy101 The fact that he still think the one was derived from the other only proved his ignorance on the subject, in this case, the typology of the gun itself. Both are different gun albeit similar, just because BJ2020 is similar to a Jeep CJ doesn't mean they are the same.

We need to revitalise our ilmu bedil (gun knowledge), we once produced matchlock rifles which quality is as excellent as German-made ones. We would not only reviving a culture long suppressed, but also bring many new job and business opportunities.

penggantian AMX-13 ini memang susah sih, secara jumlah banyak banget, dari 13 Yonkav, ada 8 Batalyon yang make AMX-13 sebagai tulang punggungnya (sekitar 400 ranpur all variant) sementara repeat order Harimau MT juga ya.. begitu..
