@Riko_de_Sama @0takusociety Really? As far as I know, the publisher put pressure on the author.
English

@AvesRUS @0takusociety Keep in mind the author got death threats.
English

@ChibiReviews To be honest, it's pretty mid... There are way too many characters splitting the viewer's attention. It would've been better if the author just focused on one couple...
English

@HumansNoContext Left: looks nice, but a dust collector
Right: ugly, but practical
English

@OtakuEspiritu It sucks that in most romcoms the girl is shorter... I love the dynamic where the girl is taller or at least the same height as the guy :(
English

If his sister was that hot why did he kill himself?
Did he at least fuck her before drowning himself?

@loladze @ReviewsPossum If you want to learn more about the Empire’s actual achievements, you can read A.A. Borisyuk’s books. Everything is presented honestly, with references to documents and statistical sources.
English

Obviously, there are benefits of progress that come with time, but you miss the point. The USSR did achieve decent living conditions for the vast majority of its population. The same cannot be said about Tsarist Russia. And the USSR had only a few decades to do so. Tsars ruled for centuries yet failed to achieve this.
English

Because you redefine socialism to whatever suits your argument.
"Norway proves socialism works because they have, like, taxpayer-subsidized childcare or something."
"Venezuelans eating their pets isn't proof socialism doesn't work because real socialism has never been tried!"
Harry Eccles@Heccles94
If socialism is so bad, why do countries with socialist policies have a better quality of life?
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum "Stalin had decades to develop the internet, but he didn't."
No, seriously. Centuries? I can just picture Catherine II building a post-industrial economy with mass consumerism and all that.

@Riko_de_Sama @0takusociety It would have been absolute cinema if the author had had the balls to keep them together

@loladze @ReviewsPossum I've never claimed that the modern West doesn't have problems with democracy. The modern West is turning into the USSR, lol
English

@AvesRUS @ReviewsPossum Finally, you acknowledge that the West has problems with democracy. It saddens me to see that the US, according to several American studies, is becoming an oligarchy with diminishing democratic elements. Unrestrained capitalism leads to oligarchy.
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum And no amount of "power" is worth needlessly destroying millions of people and driving them into totalitarianism and poverty. I would much rather my homeland be a second- or third-rate power, but one that is rich and free.
English

Didn’t Russia reach the pinnacle of its power under Stalin? The country was transformed from a struggling agrarian society into a global superpower in a remarkably short period. While I understand your appreciation for high culture and the humanities, from a strictly industrial and military perspective, Russia reached its historical peak under socialism.
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum 4. Despite industrialization, nearly losing the war with Germany, losing 27kk, and receiving food (!) and gunpowder (!!) via Lend-Lease.
5. Burdening the Russian people with a horde of Eastern European parasites of virtually no use. Feeding them instead of the Russians (literally
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum No. Russia reached the peak of its foreign policy power after its victory over Napoleon. Stalin’s “power” consisted of the following steps:
2. Starve 7 million peasants to death in order to purchase American machinery.
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum And secondly: comparing the Russian Empire to the late USSR is like saying that things were bad under Stalin because there was no internet.
English

I see where you’re coming from now. You seem to subscribe to the view that people lived happily under the Russian Empire until the Bolsheviks arrived and destroyed everything good. There is some truth to that -- the destruction of the thin but highly refined and cultured layer of the Russian aristocracy was tragic, and humanity collectively lost many potential Tolstoys. However, Lenin would never have succeeded if the peasants and workers had lived under the Tsar as well as they did during the late Soviet era.
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum I’m not saying that the Russian Empire was perfect. But it was a developed state for its time. And the Civil War was a LITTLE more complicated than “the workers and peasants simply followed the Bolsheviks.” Izhevsk, Votkinsk, Tambov...
English

@loladze @ReviewsPossum To hate Bolshevism, one need only understand what it deprived Russia of: it deprived Russia of a rapidly developing economy, several million people, a significant portion of the cultural elite, and the individual freedoms that—ironically, huh?—HAD existed in the absolutist Russia
English

No, I'm not defending them. Just as I don't defend crimes of capitalism, which you seem to attribute to the "Middle Ages." I've lived under both systems. While I prefer capitalism, I clearly see that both engage in propaganda. Western propaganda, shaped by the ultra-wealthy, is much more effective, as evidenced by your heavy bias.
