@velouniversity Also some of the batted ball data could be attained to how easy it is to hit in warm vs cold. Pretty common knowledge that the ball flies more when it’s warmer

@velouniversity I wouldn’t base such a big claim on a study involving 8 college kids, college athletes vary significantly in work ethic, conditioning, sleep habits, prep, etc. half them could’ve drank the night before and slept 3 hours while the others did arm care and slept 8 hours.

Pitchers who applied 4 minutes of ice to their deltoid and forearm between innings threw 1.3-1.5 mph harder in innings 4-5, reported 35% lower perceived exertion, and felt better recovered. Traditional dugout strategy says keep it warm. The data say cool it down.
