Trump and Netanyahu’s reprehensible attacks on Iran have already sent oil prices soaring.  And the pain won’t stop at the pump. Soon, high oil prices will cause another inflation crisis: raising the already extreme cost of feeding, clothing, and housing your family.  Fossil fuels are driving both the climate and cost-of-living crises, all while oil giants cash in on war with hundreds of billions in windfall profits. There has never been a clearer case for embracing renewable energy.  Nobody ever bombed a storage tank full of sunlight, or fought a war for the wind.

I am feeling so energized heading into the NDP convention and deeply grateful for my decision to endorse Avi Lewis. His campaign has been grounded in hope, courage, and a belief in what is possible when we build from our strengths. He has reminded us that our power comes from what we already hold within our movement. Thank you to Avi and his incredible team for choosing integrity, for lifting people up, and for leading with positivity when it matters most. This is the kind of movement people are ready to believe in and build together.

This past Saturday, more than 300 people came out in Montreal – at a time when we're told the NDP has no path to victory in Quebec. Don’t believe the headlines calling this race a funeral march. Our campaign is giving rise to a strong, new left-wing political movement – in Quebec and beyond.

Harm reduction saves lives. The Ontario government's decision to cut all public funding for supervised consumption sites in the province is a deadly policy decision that will result in more deaths from overdoses. Supervised consumption sites are a healthcare service for people who use drugs. To deny and defund medically necessary healthcare services in the toxic drug crisis environment is abhorrent and deeply unjust.

This past week across Ontario was incredible: packed halls in Hamilton, Peterborough and Guelph. A community iftar in London. And a sit-down with laid-off GM workers in Ingersoll. We are finishing strong on the road to Winnipeg. Vote today if you haven't already! act.lewisforleader.ca/vote
