Surely if I put Morgan Rielly in Shayne Gostisbheres role I’d get value out of him. Ghost is 5th in TOI among D, 1st in PP time, 1st in points, and he starts a ton of shifts in the ozone.

Not comparing them at all. Just saying the Leafs have to weigh the cost acquisition for both. Raddysh is going to cost 6 years at roughly $8M per year, for a guy who’s had one good season at age 30. It’s a high risk. There’s a buy low argument for someone like Kesselring. Even if his ceiling isn’t close to Raddysh.

Michael Kesselring played all of 4:25 for the Sabres in the playoffs. Still an RFA. Maple Leafs should be looking into players like that instead of giving out a massive contract to Darren Raddysh IMO.

@amato_mike You're factually incorrect. Raddysh has had 3 solid seasons in a row now, and not just points increasing every year. Take a look at his metrics and he's been in the 90% or higherin play driving and possession metrics the last 3 years. This year he just exploded

TOR has cap and needs puck-moving D-Men. DAL is in a cap crunch w/ Robertson and Bourque as RFAs and Heiskanen, Lindell and Bichsel already on the left side. Harley, an Olympian, had a bit of a down year but I have no doubt he’ll be back as a high-end D. Do you make this deal?
