I find the disruption to access here personally annoying but ultimately, DC does not need *three* crappy cheap golf courses within its borders. The one with the best location -- East Potomac -- should be a legitimately nice public course (note by the way that greens fees for Bethpage Black for NY residents are only like 60 bucks -- expectation should be same here), and let the other two remain muni-junk level.

NEWS: East Potomac Golf is expected to shut down on Sunday after the last tee time as the Trump administration officially takes it over. Renovations will start at a later date once compliance has been met. Tom Fazio expected to lead the renovation. This is what I’ve been hearing about the proposed Trump/Fazio course at East Potomac, now beginning to be confirmed by @RickMaese. Because of the (likely unrealistic) wish to bring a major championship to the facility, the course would have to be massive. This would probably mean cutting the number of holes at East Potomac in half and eliminating many of the popular non-golf areas on the island (roads, walking paths, picnic areas).

If you’re an American consider the outside world of golf & us in Australia.LIV gave us the chance to see many of the games best players, outside of that it’s Presidents Cup each 10-15 years or pay one player more than the total field prize money to turn up ( Tiger and now Rory)

Who exactly was hurt by LIV? $5b into golf ecosystem from them, $2b from private equity. Ratings higher than ever. Participation higher than ever. Fans have more interest. Players make more money. Eco system has more money. Who got hurt? LIV was the best thing to happen to golf and its going away will be bad. Product was meh, but it was necessary and brought good things to the sport I love.
