Lately, I’ve observed a concerning shift in the Ordinals community. What once centered around the principle of “don’t trust, verify” has devolved into an environment where misinformation spreads rapidly, and toxic behavior is becoming the norm. One particular misconception that I feel compelled to address is the narrative surrounding Ordinal Genesis. Contrary to some of the claims being made, it remains one of the most cost-efficient and reliable on-demand minting platforms in the Ordinals space. It consistently delivers successful mints, and our focus has always been on accessibility, transparency, and performance. Throughout this journey, I’ve made a conscious effort to remain transparent, from breaking down operational costs and explaining the intricacies of large-scale launchpads in multiple discords, to spending countless hours assisting individuals with recursion, file structuring, and even building custom websites to support their projects. This has been all my life for more than two years now. Unfortunately, over the past few months, my experience has become increasingly discouraging. The broader tone of the community has shifted dramatically. The decline in market sentiment seems to have amplified frustration and negativity, and in many cases, that energy is being redirected at builders rather than constructively channeled. What’s been especially disheartening is seeing individuals I once considered friends and collaborators join in the negativity. The support and camaraderie that once defined this space have, for many, been replaced with blame, distrust, and hostility. It’s a shift that has made honest dialogue harder, and it’s taken a real mental toll. When I see posts spreading misinformation, I still try to engage respectfully, asking for clarification, offering context, or breaking down the actual fees and mechanics involved in inscriptions. But more often than not, these efforts are ignored or met with more toxicity. At times, it feels like I and the platform have become convenient scapegoat, treated as “public enemy #1” without fair consideration of the facts or the history of what we've contributed. I’m not sharing this simply out of frustration, but out of a sincere hope that we can refocus on what made this space so innovative and exciting to begin with. We need to move back toward a culture of building, learning, and supporting one another, even when markets are down and sentiment is low. Let’s strive to bring back the spirit that made Ordinals special, one where facts matter more than narratives, and where we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down.
