This brother is clearly ignorant, and he is trying to force a sister to marry him by instilling fear of her committing a major sin or kufr for refusing. May Allah guide him. What is understood from the speech of Shaykh Ibn Bāz regarding polygyny is clearly directed toward sisters or feminists who attempt to reject or dismiss the legislation of polygyny. Shaykh Ibn Bāz is not saying that if a woman does not want to be a second wife, she is committing a major sin or kufr. What an ignorant brother he is. And we know this because we have statements from other mashāyikh explaining the issue, such as Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān, who said that a woman who does not want to be a second wife is not sinful for that. Rather, this falls under natural jealousy that a woman exhibits, so long as she is not opposed to the legislation itself.
