@AwardsObsession I liked the trailer. Looks like a cross between Dr. Strangelove, Don't Look Up, & Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys. I hope the film's tone -- dark, satirical comedy with cuckoo characters -- doesn't overstay its welcome. These types of films can be hit-or-miss.

How do we feel about Digger this awards season? Feel like Cruise, Goodman, Ahmed are the ones to get the most attention, but perhaps Hüller and Plemons will have some good scenes the trailer doesn’t really highlight too well

@Cinemadiction @NicholasMesa7 Should be good in the the technicals with the right amount of flair in cinematography, production design, sound, and makeup. Score possibility as well.

@NicholasMesa7 Exactly. It has a vibe of Don’t Look Up x Birdman, both did exceedingly well with the Academy. Plus WB be killing it lately. Hoping for the best 🙏🏻

@AwardsObsession I think it will still get in at the end of the day given all of Iñárritu’s movies have gotten at least one nomination somewhere, it all really depends on how the film is received and how Cruise’s campaign will go.

Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of THE ODYSSEY is as epic as movies get with some of the most breathtaking set pieces he’s ever attempted. A colossal achievement of scale, even by Nolan’s standards, its commitment to capturing as much as possible in-camera using new IMAX cameras is a staggering technical feat worthy of this sprawling yet intimate story of one man’s journey to return home, the burden and consequences of leadership, and the eternal struggle between mortals and gods. Matt Damon’s screen command and glimpse into Odysseus’s soul brings waves of enormous power to a larger-than-life and complex role. Anne Hathaway turns in an equally powerful and emotional performance as the steadfast Penelope. And Tom Holland's coming-of-age portrayal of Telemachus signals an exciting new era in his evolving career as a leading man. The cast is massive but the supporting turns from Robert Pattinson, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, and John Leguizamo impressed me the most. Ludwig Göransson turns in another bold and memorable score that brings classical and modern music together into something wholly unique. And the soundscape is thunderous, knowing exactly how and when to dial the overwhelming sound back for maximum dramatic effect. Whether you experience it in IMAX or a standard theater, this is the kind of filmmaking and storytelling that we rarely see anymore and deserves to be honored.

Every week I make it a point to experience a film I have slacked on seeing so far thru the years. Like required viewing level😅 Tonight I’m watching Paul Schrader’s FIRST REFORMED (2017) featuring what seems to be an all-timer performance from Ethan Hawke. #nw

@AwardsObsession Same. I have Nolan for Director, with Los Javis at #2. Nolan feels like the perfect repeat second Best Director win we’ve seen with folks like Inarritu, Lee, Cauron, and Spielberg, where it’s Nolan demonstrating his talents on a $250 million old school epic grand scale.

Obviously subject to change, but I feel pretty good having LA BOLA NEGRA as my pick!
