Imagine collecting hundreds of older cards before card collecting really took off, thinking you hit the jackpot…only to realize your historic serialed 9s are really 6s and 7s under today’s grading standards…don’t let it deter you! there are many opportunities for fresh slabs!

One of my customers sent me a big stack of wrestling magazines to work on. So much great nostalgia in these, especially this copy of Pro Wrestling Illustrated from May 1990 featuring Hulk Hogan. Some spine ticks are easy to fix, some are tough, and then some just can’t be fixed 100%. Once the fibers in the paper are broken, you’ll never fix it completely. This copy is now off to PSA for grading!

Oh we’re definitely in the honeymoon period for PSA. It’s still the shiny new toy. Pop counts are part of that. I still believe that long term PSA will get a premium. While the data is small, I’ve seen 2x comps for PSA vs CGC on the same piece, same grade. What’s more common is a 30%+ premium for PSA. The big question is, how long will it last?

@themachoboggs @CGC_SI Yeah I only have about 30 slabs so I’m sending in a few at a time to crossover. So far I’m 4/4 with crossovers with same grades at CGC.

@Axel_Foley13 @CGC_SI I’m sticking with CGC because 99.9% of my collection is with them and I don’t feel like dealing with a hassle of reholdering everything. I don’t love the PSA slab and the only one I own has a wave in it. I hope the label improves over time and I’ll probably submit once it changes
