@Aximilli13

"When we are kidnapped by smartphones and overwhelmed by fragmented information, this small device hanging on the bag reminds us with delicate interaction, exquisite design and pure experience: the essence of technology is to make life more warm."

When God stays a proposition, the spiritual life almost has to become about danger management. Because if God is mostly an idea you’re trying to hold correctly, then everything feels fragile. One wrong belief, one wrong step and it’s game over…
But when God becomes experienced as presence instead of proposition, the center of gravity changes. For the Christian this shift can look like
I must hold onto God
to
God is holding me

"Just settle for observed behavior."
Key word here is settle.
Often people end up being in the market for compelling explanations rather than greater awareness of the truth. Once we name all the mechanisms with "science" our curiosity dries up. We start collecting knowledge rather than becoming better at knowing...
That's what settling looks like...
English

@Aximilli13 How is this relevant to the original post and my response?
"Just settle for observed behavior."
Which is what science does
English

All of your gotchas, there are explanations for them. But you don't listen. Possibly you dont care because you don't really want to be shown that your cherished worldview might be wrong.
Cope harder.

@dankuntz I tried emailing you but the email address is bouncing. I am curious about the camera? How does that play into it's interactivity?

Non judgement can be tricky… in the beginning we can be very active about it. We end up imposing non judgement on ourselves.
I think that’s where it gets messy, if we stay in this active posture then we end up dismissing, minimizing or ignoring our judgements.
The goal isn’t to become a manager of our judgement, or to abandon our perspective. It’s less the absence of perspective and it’s more one’s perspective without the extra layers of self reference. We still see what we see… we’re just not making it about us.
And that’s what changes the relationship to judgement entirely. Our regular tendency is to make judgements then hold on to them, folding them into our ideas around people or events. A non judgemental posture will observe judgements and even be informed by them but rarely compelled.

After my experience with angry ranting on Twitter about pragmatic dharma men I had a realization:
Not allowing myself to judge others has detrimental sides to it.
One issue is that it makes it more difficult for me to see when someone's behavior towards me or others is potentially dangerous.
Another is that blaming myself for everything that goes wrong in my life makes it harder for me to be confident I am making the right decisions, which leads to constant postponing of taking these decisions, general insecurity and behavior lacking coherence/congruence.
It supports a sense of pride for being tolerant and non-judgmental.
It hinders empathy towards people who are openly judgemental as their default behavior (though my experience with typology softened that a little).
It makes it harder to see projections. For example if I say "pragmatic dharma men hate women", it's not rocket science to figure out I might have some hatred towards pragmatic dharma men.
But if I say "I respect your choices" while repressing parts of me who don't respect the other person's choices and who don't respect me for respecting their choices and assume the other doesn't respect me because I respect their choices that I actually don't respect - what's going on there is harder to figure out. 👀

@acidwh0le @StevenWright No worries I was just seeking clarification

@PoshestPony @ADHD_Alien Yes I also can’t wait to grab your book!
English

@ADHD_Alien @Aximilli13 >> help me make sense of the ghosts that have haunted me all my life. When your book comes out, I will be ordering at least three copies (I got friends with ADHD, and I know for sure their kids probably got it as well) and spreading the love! Thank you SO MUCH!! ❤️❤️❤️

@PracticalTheolo The trinity isn't something to be argued... It's not something one proves. It's what one comes to recognize. Which is exactly why verse dumping fails you can't Bible someone into seeing what's only visible from inside the encounter. The Trinity is a phenomenological...
English

"Bible dumping verses and giving no exegesis is not apologetics, it's propaganda" 👍💪
Yep, this happens often.
Best response I've found is to either a) ask them to actually make an argument, or b) start with one, rip it to shreds, then ask if should go on to the next one?

Do you have to believe in the Trinity to be a Christian? No. Debunking Noah Reagan. 🔥

Very much needed.. I have been following you for a while. You came out around the time I really found out my diagnosis from childhood was the cause of so many of my problems.
Then you have this wonderful art style that was like a light in the dark. Putting words and visuals to something I struggle to explain. It's clear you share in the pain and difficulties this condition brings. You pour that into your work and it shows. It's not easy to keep showing up.. especially for us.
English

@Aximilli13 Thank you, that genuinely means a lot. Haven’t always been confident the last year if my work was even still needed
English

@opendoorforever To be clear I’m not really talking about the way it’s currently used. I mean it’s origin which means to simply be aware, informed or tuned in.
That’s a banner anyone can rally under regardless of political leanings…
Now it’s a slur
English

That does happen.. context can drift, and the meaning can change. However o think what we’re seeing here is more.. an intentional weaponization.
There’s not an anti save the whales campaign. But there is an anti-be aware of how broken and unjust our systems can be campaign.
I’m not even really speaking about partisanship. Woke I was coming from a critique of the system itself, of the powers that be… Now the waters have been muddied.
English

@Aximilli13 Language changes to reflect what is actually happening and not what is now irrelevant
