Skip 250 hours of story as you like to play a few hours of raids. But once you finish the raid encounters and get bored, don’t complain about the game having nothing to offer. You skipped 250 hours and more of what else it has to offer.

Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

just to be clear, you're free to skip the story but 9 times out of 10 those that do and go immediately into raiding end up looking like this

The people who engage with mmo's exclusively for the endgame content are core to the issue with the genre. They burn everything to get to the end game, finish it, and squeal for more content ignoring the fact that they skipped 90% of the game.
Also FFXIV is a story driven game.

@powyourefrozen Dps don't get healed anyways, support mains too distracted wasting cooldowns to heal the full hp tanks while standing in the open. Try playing dps and getting picks on the raid boss supports who need overtuned kits due to the playerbases rock bottom skill.

@TheWalker_07 @ju1kzy All the characters u said healbot, unless u have 3 healers u cant make as many agressive plays or use dmg cards on gambit 4 ex. In this game u have to healbot to sum extent. The healers that dont healbot are mantis ultron and adam and u didnt mention any of them, i Wonder why.
