I think a lot of the hate toward noncomp shows comes from people focusing on the fact that there’s no competition driving the story so they call it “boring”. drama doesn’t need a competition to exist. A lot of OSC fans seriously need to branch out and watch other media.

Tip for people applying to animate for object shows: FLESH OUT YOUR PORTFOLIOS! Very often I'll see portfolios with mostly unfinished test animations and 2 second gifs. It's much easier to gauge someones ability if they provide things like full scenes with multiple characters!
