It seems the driving instructor hadn't got to the bit in the manual about cyclists yet. There was a pupil driving. Surely a little prompt - "you've got plenty of time, mirrors, signal, overtake the cyclist with plenty of space", but this driving school seems to be breeding the next generation close passers.

@Axolotol3 @but_cyclists Except it is, when you’re going 30 in a 30 you glance down every so often to make sure you’ve not accidentally drifted a mile or 2 each way. When you’re doing 20 in what should be a 30 you naturally want to do what should be the speed limit

Negligable cost & since when was a few quid not worth it 4 safety? While youre at it, spend £5 on a high vis that should also be compulsory. U r making lame excuses.

@DPAutomation @RekTradinCrypto Cost doesn't always mean direct money. That's not the cost I'm taking about. For the record I do wear a helmet. The cost to install calibrated speedometer on every bicycle including kids riding to school would be a very large monetary cost though.

@DPAutomation @RekTradinCrypto Australia is quite restrictive, that's why they have these type of laws. Speed and helmet laws create barriers to cycling. Cycling benefits outweigh the cost of implementation of such things.
