As we mark #InternationalWomensDay, women from our team reflect on a simple truth: who shapes decisions determines who benefits. Real progress means designing systems where women’s leadership is expected and supported. 🔗axum.earth #IWD2026

The results: 15,000+ private actors engaged, ~$80M in loans facilitated annually, cost-lowering tax reforms influenced, and $32M+ in new investment mobilized. This is what integrative collaboration can unlock. 🔗: tinyurl.com/38y3vp2p #AfricanGovernance #SystemsChange

What does the African Government Collaborative (AGC) look like in practice? 🌍 In Tanzania, AGC partnered with the Ministry of Livestock & Fisheries through an embedded Private Sector Desk, strengthening dialogue and delivery from inside government.

A key part of AGC is Axum’s Design → Incubate → Transfer (DIT) approach: structuring partnerships, testing ideas in real systems, and transferring ownership to government teams. Because change lasts when it’s co-created and locally led. 🔗 Learn more: tinyurl.com/38y3vp2p

Most development partnerships fall into three buckets: 1️⃣ Transactional 2️⃣ Collaborative 3️⃣ Integrative Axum’s African Government Collaborative (AGC) is built on an integrative approach where partners work side by side from day one and solutions grow from the inside out.

Through AGC, we work hand-in-hand with governments to set strategic priorities, co-create localized solutions across education, health, and trade, and mobilize long-term investment alongside development partners. 🔗Learn more: lnkd.in/d5qvPTe9 #GovernmentPartnerships

🫱🏾‍🫲🏿We launched the African Government Collaborative (AGC) in 2025 to address a common challenge: many efforts to support African governments stall at the point of execution because they are short-lived, externally driven, or disconnected from how public systems work.

#BeyondAidDependency: Africa’s Health Financing, Led from Within @WillowHealthKe, in partnership with @nighealthwatch, hosted the “Beyond Aid Dependency” roundtable to explore how African countries can fund their own health systems sustainably. Policymakers, economists, and civil society leaders examined practical, homegrown solutions, from health taxes to domestic resource mobilisation, aimed at making funding predictable, transparent, and locally owned. Edwin Macharia, Co-founder of @AxumEarth, delivered the keynote address, contributing valuable insights that enriched the discussion. The roundtable highlighted strategies now entering policy conversations, demonstrating the role of collaborative dialogue in shaping Africa’s health financing future. willowhealthmedia.org/roundtable-cha…

“Kenya loses about KSh 100 billion annually to alcohol- and tobacco-related diseases. Excise revenue should focus on disease burden first, not just collection. Historically, only 7% of excise revenue reaches health programs due to weak systems.” — Jonathan Munge, Project Manager, Axum #BeyondAidDependency #Tax

Across Africa, health systems face growing pressure as external aid becomes less predictable and fiscal space tightens. Donor dependence is no longer sustainable. Strengthening domestic health financing mechanisms is essential to essential to ensure health services reach the people who need them most. #BeyondAidDependency
