Enzo Fernandez has grown past the point of being a “tactical dilemma”. It’s simply pure pure incompetence if you can’t build a team to cover for his very limited weakness. It’s really not that hard.

I'm sorry bro, I totally feel where you're coming from, but with the number of 'dynasty piece' deep midfielders with actual defensive steel available on the market this summer, it would be extremely irresponsible to ignore all of that and move Enzo into the pivot. Enzo in deep areas is not something we haven't seen at all, we have seen it, and in the English league it's a good as putting a traffic cone there. You've avoided talking about this. The players that make up the "2" in any 3-2 build up style are part of the immediate rest defence no matter what they are doing in possession. Mishaps, odd bounces, quick counters happen alot in England and in the face of all of this, your ideal situation involves Enzo chasing EPL attackers towards his own goal, or competing in more aerial duels than he usually does. Enzo himself doesn't like playing there for this reason and there's a quote from his father saying so. Look around at every successful team using 3-2 build up in England, none of them have a player like Enzo there. Pep was happy using Stones and Akanji as liberos just to avoid this. It's not as rosy as you're making it sound, and the evidence we already have says that Enzo not being able to receive well BTL is a lesser evil than Enzo trying to screen or support a backline out of possession.
