No, I don't think AI should be thanked, credited for its work, celebrated, chastised, or treated as anything other than a tool. Should we start crediting Visual Studio Code on every commit? Should we also credit Python? How about crediting Apple for their computers, which made that particular commit possible?
Josh Ellithorpe@zquestz

@svpino So you don't believe an AI should be credited for their work? What about in an age when AGI exists?

That road is Route 1 in Iceland. A week driving it costs roughly $2,500 per person. Flights from the US run $500-600 round trip. Gas is $8-9 per gallon. A glacier hike is $125. A night in a decent hotel near Vatnajökull is $160-200. Total tab for two people to spend a week staring at that glacier instead of a monitor: somewhere around $7,000. The median American household earns that in about 18 working days. Sitting in a room. Staring at a screen. The people who actually drive that road on a random Tuesday in March fall into two categories: retirees who stared at screens for 40 years and saved enough to stop, or remote workers who figured out how to stare at a screen from Reykjavik instead of a cubicle in Ohio. Both paths run through the screen. The photo is real. The freedom it represents costs $7,000 and 10 days of PTO. The device you’re reading this complaint on is the same device that books the flight.

the world looks like this and we’re expected to sit in a room for 8 hours a day staring at a screen

What they hit instead: the Omid Rehabilitation Center - part of the former Camp Phoenix complex. Established under Afghanistan's previous government. Operated by the Ministry of Labor. A known, old, civilian facility with 2,000 beds across multiple hangars. Not a secret. Not hidden. Not a militant base.

The drone facility "the Baheer Center" was real. Eyewitnesses confirmed drones taking off and landing from the site in recent months. It's heavily fortified with high perimeter walls. Pakistan did have a target. They just missed it. By the length of a city block.

Taliban Supreme Leader Warns Pakistan, Says Threats Will Not Deter Them The supreme leader of the Taliban, Hibatullah Akhundzada, addressed thousands of worshippers during Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Eidgah in Kandahar, where he made rare remarks touching on tensions with Pakistan. In what appeared to be an indirect reference to the ongoing conflict, Akhundzada said they would not be intimidated by airstrikes or artillery fire, stressing that such pressure would not alter their position. He added that if fear of military force had influenced them, they would have already been defeated during the war with NATO and Western forces. He also acknowledged public concerns about the direction of the government, stating that citizens have the right to question leadership decisions. Additionally, he criticized traders accused of hoarding goods, calling the practice sinful and urging that those responsible should face punishment. This marks the first time the Taliban leader has publicly alluded to the current tensions with Pakistan. Akhunzada appeared on the minaret of the mosque in Kandahar to deliver his Eid sermon.

@Sanjayvermasbg @gidonsaar @DrSJaishankar The Republic of Balochistan with trillion dollars worth of oil, natural gas, gold, copper and rare earth minerals will help and assist it's allies to overcome the energy crisis. Iran does not own any oil, gas well or any port and strait of Hormuz.
