Two favourites I repeat most often: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَاجْبُرْنِي، وَعَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي، وَارْفَعْنِي "O Allah forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, support me, protect me, provide for me and elevate me." twitter.com/SheikhSayeed07…

I named jewish supremacy. I opposed genocide. Now they're changing the law to strike me off the medical register. This is what happens when the health secretary is controlled by the zionist jewish lobby. Britain is an occupied state. Ps. I am Palestinian. I am a Semite.

I remember how many prominent Muslim social media accounts/channels were parroting the "Pakistan is working against Iran for Israel" dis-info when the Afghanistan/Pakistan conflict began - a lie that has now repeatedly proven to be false. This bombing near the Pakistani embassy and the Pakistani ambassador's residence is clearly Israel's doing. It likely wants to derail Pakistan's attempts to broker meaningful US-Iran peace talks (something it has a vested interest in ensuring happens) - because Israel's interests lie in continuing the conflict and meting out as much damage as possible & pushing the US into a ground invasion if possible.

There’s been aerial bombing near the Embassy of Pakistan and the residence of the Pakistani ambassador in Tehran in Iran a very short while ago, All Pak Diplomats are Safe but shook — This while Pakistan alongside Turkey and Egypt is doing the shuttle diplomacy for deescalation

I’d honestly say the same to my fellow Punjabis. Allah can honour a people and He can disgrace a people. When you engage in generalisations of Pashtuns or blanket racism because of an incident or group of people (rather than a criticism of the individuals specifically) - be warned every zulm has its consequences in this life and in the hereafter. Our qaum has been blessed by Allah with fertile land, Islam, strong communal ties amongst us, a preeminent language and a heritage/history that is undeniable in our region. Everything else is just noise. There’s a lot of manufactured ethnic animosity being pushed by elements within the Pakistani establishment, anti-establishment groups and frankly many non-Pakistani accounts. None of it is being done with good intentions nor with your benefit in mind. Punjabis and Pashtuns have been living as neighbours to one another for hundreds of years. There’s a lot more commonality than bigots on either side are willing to admit. Empires have come and gone. Political parties, elites, leaders & even states - come and go. Your neighbours however will be a constant throughout all of this because you share a home. You do not need to engage in racism or insult Pashtuns to make a point about behaviour in parks or public spaces. Nor should you respond to racism against Punjabis - with racism of your own. It’s a zero sum game where the shaytaan is the only winner. Arrogance or putting yourself above another or a race of people in this case is exactly how shaytaan was disgraced by Allah by putting himself above Adam (as). That pride and its destructive effects will not be immune to Punjabis or Pashtuns that engage in it - just as shaytaan was not immune to it. So do better.
abul ma’ali@abulmaali_

To my fellow Pashtuns: Allah has honoured our people, and Muslims from all over the world respect us. I know you all see the astroturfed hatred towards us on the media (traditional and social), including the obnoxious stereotypes, the outright racism, the accusations of terrorism, homosexuality, drug addiction and worse. Yes, people will post videos of Pashtuns being nuisances in Islamabad or Lahore, and they’ll spread them and put a short message about how we’re incompatible with their civilization and some other ugly rhetoric. They will ignore that these people causing a ruckus are often displaced people who grew up as orphans without guidance, and in some cases the filthiest of them actually fled KPK/Afghanistan themselves because their filth wasn’t tolerated there, meanwhile they can get away with it in Islamabad. Regardless of the reason for their actions, the inorganic campaign to demonize us (coming from certain institutions and political parties) is clear as day. My request to Pashtuns is simple: Do not EVER engage in tit-for-tat racism. I don’t care if a Sindhi or Punjabi attacks you — call HIM ignorant, stupid or whatever — but do not insult his people or his lineage. People being racist to us does not justify us crossing the limits that Allah set for us. Why should a practising Muslim Sindhi have his entire ethnicity insulted because of some imbecile on Facebook or Twitter insulted you? May Allah grant us wisdom and protect our people & protect the Muslims as a whole.

Random thought: 1971 should be remembered but also understood. The failure in 1947 was not separating Pakistan into two separate Muslim polities. Ideology trumped pragmatism unnecessarily forcing two different Muslim majority regions into a single country, separated by 1000+ miles with vastly different cultural, linguistic and ethnic identities. It was very natural for each community to want representation and political autonomy given the differences/distance. Ultimately political engineering, violence, greed and rigid ideology resulted in lasting scars and a painful legacy that weakened Muslim political power in the subcontinent - which is still exploited by agents of the Hindutva project. Had those regions separated as their own states, they could have worked together as equals on Kashmir and other issues of geopolitical importance to Bangladesh like Siliguri corridor and Muslim majority areas that should have gone to Bangladesh. Not only that but hundreds of thousands would have been spared needless bloodshed and India wouldn’t have been allowed to engage in conquer/divide policies. Shared faith doesn’t require a shared state - is a lesson that Muslims imo need to absorb.

March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs. In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight". They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people. The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time. However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began. To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice. Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs. On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.

Genuinely think that geopolitically India was never really that relevant in the West-Central-South Asian corridor, apart from being a spoiler for Pakistan that actually shares more of a border with Iran/China. I think the further Pakistan develops the less relevant India becomes especially within that region. Pakistan is in the goldilocks spot of diplomacy because it's in the goldilocks zone geopolitical and has enough conventional power to be a heavyweight in the region.
Tenzing Lamsang@TenzingLamsang

Pakistan seems to be in the Goldilocks spot of diplomacy. It has a strong alliance with China with economic & militarily assistance. At the same time it is a current favourite with the US under Trump. It has a military pact with Saudi Arabia but Iran trusts it for negotiations.

Ironically this post says more about the limits of your English than the “spiritual bankruptcy” of the language. Every language has its own uniqueness, depth and flavour. Similarly superiority of languages are not measured by their ability to boil down complex ideas or feelings into one word, like Hijr in Urdu. Also as an Urdu/Punjabi speaker - Punjabi holds forms of emotional and intangible depth due to its tonal qualities that Urdu cannot really replicate. That doesn’t make Urdu inferior and by the same logic it doesn’t make English “spiritually bankrupt”. But it would with your flawed logic.
m@chmpgnsoshalist

urdu has a word for the pain of separation that contains, within it, the assumption that reunion is cosmically possible. while english is so spiritually bankrupt it can name the ache but not imagine its end.

Pakistan is far from being an unlikely US-Iran mediator. Many high-level Pak-Iran meetings over last year. The US admin very fond of Pak. Trump has said Munir knows Iran better than most. Also worth noting that Pakistan represents Iran’s diplomatic interests in the US.

The Grandson of Gulbadin Hikmatyar, studied in FAST Islamabad, owed his very career to the people of Pakistan. His father still lives in Islamabad btw! It's one thing to criticize the policies of our state, but to go after people at large is a new low even by the standards of Ethno-nationalists . Should I mention how many Pakistanis from the mainland Punjab went on to join his grandfather to fight against the Soviet invasion? Or the pistol his grandfather gifted to Hafiz Salman Butt when he came to address the annual gathering of IJT in Quetta? This generation of Afghan is just plain stupid, to go after the very same networks their forefathers built over the course of four decades!!!!

Nothing to be particularly proud of and brain drain of this magnitude has been happening for decades. When Pakistanis are not afforded equal opportunities and are forced to navigate within a nepotistic society where their merit/honesty may not be rewarded - it’s obvious that they’ll look abroad for a place where success and hard work are rewarded. Unfortunately opportunity in Pakistan is monopolised by a scarcity mindset that trickles from the top to bottom and zero sum thinking. It pushes Pakistanis abroad and prevents reverse hijra of diaspora Pakistanis that actually have the investment capacity, tools and civic sense to create more opportunities in Pakistan.

Endorsing collective punishment now on the Gulf’s civilian population by targeting their water supplies? On one hand decrying the killing of innocent Iranians and on the other endorsing strikes that will deprive civilians in the Gulf of drinking water. Ironically the same accounts have been parroting the Pakistan zionist narrative only to behave like Zionists themselves when push comes to shove. These extreme positions are what corrodes the ummah from within imho.
