Larry Bird shares why he practiced more than anyone else. "Because I feel that if it comes down to the last shot of the game, I should be the one to be able to take it and hit it." That's the mindset. Practice isn't about reps. It's about earning the right to take the big shot. "If you're gonna be good at anything, you gotta practice. The only way you're gonna get better is go out there and shoot and get your rhythm." "I can go out there right now and hit 80 to 90% of my shots. But in the game situation, you gotta get to where you can hit them shots under pressure." Anyone can make shots in an empty gym. The greats make them when it matters. "That's where I think you eliminate the men from the boys down there in the game." Pressure doesn't create who you are - it reveals it.
