@cocascola Well he’s a defensive thief who generates a lot of steals leading to wide open fast breaks. Unfortunately a lot of them resulted in terrible botched uncontested missed dunks.
And my point was that it was not reprimanded or corrected.

Byrd had total carte blanche in Dutcher’s offensive. Unlimited green light. Evidenced by many NBA three range attempts and endless missed breakaway dunks.
We wish Miles the best. But this was a money move, and the right time for both parties to move in seperate directions.

One more note on Miles Byrd: We’ve seen a handful of guys leave San Diego St and become more impactful offensive players elsewhere. Lamont Butler, Keshad Johnson, Micah Parrish & Nick Boyd all saw their numbers improve after transferring. SDSU’s offensive system doesn’t allow for a lot of spacing. It wouldn’t shock me to see Byrd’s offense improve just with a change in system

Absolutely LOVE this signing for SDSU. Bear Cherry has all the traits of a bruiser, hard nosed grinder that fits the winning Dutcher formula.
Guy is a total dawg. San Diego native. And gave SDSU the business when he was at UNLV a couple years ago. Amazing get.
