@DigginTakes I’ve always said… Kids should play multiple sports and kids should be allowed to be kids. I’m not against advanced leagues, better competition, etc. But no kid should be playing one sport all year & no kid should be training “like a pro” until at least HS. They’re kids.

2019 ➡️ 2022 Four summers ago, a nervous rookie teacher met his first group of students. Tonight, we got to celebrate their graduation from @horizonsdc , complete with a very touching tribute and a very glossy-eyed teacher. This program works. These kids remind me everyday WHY.

High school sports are fun. Kids should play for that reason alone. Problem is lots of club coaches tell kids not to compete for their high school so there’s more time to showcase & “get seen”. And kids end up being the ones missing out on the experience. It’s a shame.

Coach Cuc and Coach Albornoz. Turned a soccer cut into a lover of track who ended up competing in college. Ironically, they also offered me my first coaching gig - coaching alongside them @LoyolaDons

If your’re in middle school and only playing lacrosse ur doing yourself a disservice. Play other sports. Be an athlete. Learn to play other roles. Learn the lessons all sports provide. You’re development as a lacrosse player will escalate in the long run and for the long term.
